I would even consider trading Newie to Geelong to help them to with Milburns decline for draft picks etc...

Magic, i understand your logic, but, i can't work out if your trying to contraversial for the sake of it, or indirectly trolling. Forget the BS and chest thumping of what you are outside in the real world, but alot of your posts are all over the shop, and don't make football smart sense. This aint 1993, and Newman is a hell of lot better than Hoggy. I know you stated you would consider, but Jesus, stop and think.
Story i heard today about Geelong was the board told Bomber to rebuild, he wanted to have one last tilt. Make of that what you will.

CaptainBlood answer this question::

What is the PV of the Geelongs Compo pick in this draft if the draft options are tradeable.

I would argue for Richmond it is equivalent to pick 3 in this draft.

It is not as valuable to Geelong.

I am not talking BS I am sorry if you do not understand. If DH is an accountant he should if he doesn't but I assume he will understand what I am saying!!!!

The question is is the flexibilty of Geelongs midrange round one pick tradeable???

Can anyone answer this??? Has the AFL made a statement on the rights of this draft pick and how tradeable they are or are not????

CaptainBLood , news for you , I am self made, I am the real world, like it or not. Voss is the one associated with questionable trades, get the assessments right please!!!!

I am not all over the shop. 6 years to a premiership. Newie will be 33-too old!

Geelong premiership 2011-2012. Newie still under 30 and replacement for Milburn.

If rights are tradeable for Tigers = pick 10 in 2013 non compromised draft assuming no priorities- am I wrong???? That means pick 10 without the ladder future slump and etcc.....

I say again, If those draft pick rights are tradeable as with Bocks assuming they can use it in future years ie pick 19 in 2013 ( within a 5 year window) Richmond are not serious about wining a premiership.

It is simple as that. An actuary, business analyst of any worth will tell you the same thing regarding the rights of those draft picks rights if tradeable!!

Magic, two things, if we were at a party, you read like the guy who is the aggressive loud talker who is desperate for EVERYONE to hear his point of view, and your old school chest puffing about how successful you are reeks of someone desperate for credibility.
The point is you talk shite. shite. shite. shite. I'm not going to reply to anything you post as i really CBF. So feel free to respond anyway you like, but in order to save minutes of peoples lives reading what you post, i still wont reply.

Unfortunately Tugga, today's Australian confirms Miller will be heading to Richmond as a mature age rookie.....sorry.

Man, i am so concerned to read this. So if Miller is coming, where would that leave Dowler?

Going solely by the rumours doing the rounds we're currently losing !!
Losing Cuz, Simmonds, bling and Thursty , 2nd Round pick, Polak(rookie)
Gaining Grigg, Houli , Sherman and Miller(rookie), late 2nd rounder.

Got rid of no dead wood but gained a couple, not over encouraging , thankfully the media is generally full of crap !!

Brisbane wont take Foley and Tambling for anyonye little own Mitch Clark as their salary cap wont permit it. They are looking to trade players out for picks for this reason. So you can forget Mitch Clark.

I wouldn't be surprised if we did trade out Foley. While he is a gun, in the long term it may be in our better interests to try and off load him for a top 20 pick. Maybe the Cats would be intersted for one of their compensation picks they will recieve for Ablett.

Don't think we'd be interested in Nathan Foley. The reason being he's an inside, hard ball get player. We have crap loads of those; Sel, Bartel, Chappy etc. Then there's the fact he has played only 88 games in 7 years since making his debut. That is massive injury prone.

Richard Tambling on the hand hand would be more of an interest. We are looking to add an outside speedy player to the team, like Travis Varcoe. I've heard on SEN we're making inquiries for his services. We have pick 24

It's interesting that several players are reportedly asking to be traded to Richmond.... We are perhaps becoming a more appealing team to play for??? Or a team where it is easy to get a senior berth???

Brad Miller is a shocking call by Craig Cameron.

Even as a mature age rookie I am not too happy with this as he will only clog up game time of our young blokes. Really dissapointed by Hardwick with this decision.

In that article, it said that Griffiths has had both shoulders re-constructed. I know he injured his 'good' shoulder against Freo but did he have his 'bad' shoulder operated on again???

Is Miller insurance for Griffiths during his rehab???

I agree I am really worried about that. It sounds like this kid may never get out on the park considering those shoulders and become the next Rusling.

I think we need to forget Brad Miller and make sure we draft Luke Mitchell as our second round pick. He has grown to 198cm from 194 and would be a really good second option to Riewoldt.

Would much prefer to give a 22 yr old Dowler a go on our list than Miller.

i dont think we were ever interested in Dowler? isnt that just bf people wanting him?

He isnt there to play seniors. Will play cuz type leadership role at coburg then turned into a coach. Apparently he is fantastic with young players.

It's all part of the mad season. I think (?) Deep Throat suggested Dowler as a PSD possibilty (may be wrong). And i'm pretty sure Deep Throat made the call on Miller last week. If so, well played DT.

Can I echo the thoughts of other Big Footy posters on the Richmond Forum, Mr Magic, **** Off ! ! ! :)

Frustrated Tiger, please give me a reason to respect your opinion.

I listen to your arguments, I will laugh at your abuse.

I am sorry, I am not a baby, I am too old and hardened to rollover like a b...!!

Western Bulldogs should secure Geelong backman Nathan Djerrkura.
herald sun this morning

Nathan Djerrkura will be traded to the dogs as well. (posted before it was mentioned anywhere.

Right again

After 67 games, including 14 this year, Thursfield has attracted the interest of several clubs after deciding he too needed to seek better opportunities elsewhere.
He met Fremantle coach Mark Harvey in Perth yesterday.
Harvey is keen to add another key defender following Chris Tarrant's decision to return to Melbourne after four seasons with the Dockers. Tarrant wants to rejoin Collingwood and will talk to the Magpies next week before entertaining any other offers, particularly from Carlton.

Thursfeild is being sought after by freo.only early

almost done 2nd round pick or could be involved in a 3 way deal.

Houli is understood to be proceeding with his bid to join the Tigers despite the arrival at Windy Hill of new coach James Hird.
If a suitable trade with the Bombers cannot be arranged, Houli is a realistic chance of being secured by Richmond in the pre-season draft with no compensation to Essendon.

Yes, but Houli is still a big chance to come to us he has signed a heads of agreement, there is a bit more to houli's situation then whats being stated perhaps Hird might be able to save it, but the players until now have a had a big influence with the bombers.

The tigers are absolutley filthy with the Bombers for being accused to playing dirty with Houli but he is out of contract, but it was Essendon that approached Tambling while told he was contracted.

3 out 3 aint bad, Heads of agreement, remember i posted that i still beleive he will be at richmond next year after the article came out that he wanted to give Hird a chance.

I still beleive that sherman will be a tiger next year.

Just answer the question someone please

If no-one can answer the question so be it!!!!! I was hoping someone in this forum may be knowledgeable in this area!!

BTW, I am writing to help my club form an opinion on the best way forward because I am desperate for them to have considerable success, if you are collateral damage, so be it, I don't give a f....!!!! CB

DT, love reading your posts re trade targets etc. Interesting reading. But just a little bit of friendly advice. What I don't like is when you feel the need to come on a boast every time you get something right or an article mentions what you said.

Let everybody else give you the praise, don't blow your own trumpet, it looks petty and actually detracts from the respect you should get. Being humble would be far more impressive. Don't worry about the detractors saying all that stuff about you.... let them be. You are doing a good job :):thumbsu:

i never mentioned dowler( i did reply to another poster saying that we thought he was the best tall in that draft until his car accident) or miller coming to richmond. i did state we will be going after Jamie Lawton in an exchange with the suns for polo or another fringe player. i also stated that we still be going after a gun mid or CHF/B.

thank you anyway but i dont want to take credit for something i never posted.

Don't write to them Magic.... the RFC is far too busy to have to deal with the rantings of its fans.... I worked at the Melbourne Storm many years ago and let me assure you that the people in charge of the football department have no time or inclination to listen to nufties...

If you have a marketing idea then go for it, they will love it

Look guys, if we get Miller for nothing, than who cares? Sure he clogs room for a kid, but as people have said, he is a fantastic leader around the club and maybe he wasn't signed up based on footballing ability?

Football is more than just playing a sport nowadays. Its about getting the best of your body, developing maturity and putting 110% into your career, thats why guys like Peterson were thrown away, they lacked that maturity. Miller may be coming in to help our young kids further develop their maturity, we need another senior head now that Cousins is gone, this guy comes at virtually nothing, its a sensible win for us, he is only a depth player.

If we get him it will only be on the rookie list.
Not that happy but I can deal with that.

Who gives a toss if Miller comes to us with our last pick in the rookie draft. Unless there is a serious run of injuries I doubt we will see him anywhere near the senior side. What he will do though is provide a bit of protection for the kids at VFL level and also provide a bit of leadership as well. I don't mind this decision at all unlike some who it seems think that Miller is being recruited to be our starting CHF/FF in round 1 next year.

As for Grigg Houli & Sherman I'm not sure what the big problem is. We're probably going to pick them up for Tambling, the most abused player on our list at present and Thursfield another player who is often given a kicking when things aren't going right. The other thing we'll probably lose is a second or third round draft pick, which in reality is equal to a 3rd or 4th round pick in a compromised draft not a bad price to play for a player who in all likelihood would be lining up in the side in round 1, unlike the kid we may have taken with that pick. In fact it would be fair to say that we would be adding 3 players who are capable of slotting into the 22 come round 1 next year. Never mind the addition of pick 6 as well.

IMO we're going to be a lot stronger heading into the season if we do make these trade than we would be if we didn't.

Mate AS IF they are going to take any notice of what you, or any of us say. These guys are professionals and don't need to take heed of (mostly crack-pot) amateurs, no matter how insightful they may be. If I was inundated with people telling me - in my profession - where to look for gold or oil i'd be tossing them in the bin along with all the other crap.

Remember when that Pahoff guy tried to challenge the board? And Miller gave some Darth Vader-like speech about 'join with me and we will do the recruiting together!'. Did we ever hear of that guy again? Are you surprised?
