i would think the bulldogs are in the front running for sherman, mainly due to the fact they have stated many times they are after someone in the 21-23 age bracket!
i really believe he would be a great player for us, as we are short of goal kicking midfielders. cotchin, foley, deledio (now half-back), jackson and martin (early days) arent well known for kicking goals!

Bulldogs have nothing to offer the lions to me!
their 1st 2 pick in the ND are already used pretty much on Wallis and Libba and their 3rd round pick would be close to if not in the 60's

Our 2nd round pick is 29 and if we get good picks for Tambling and Thursfield then i couldnt care about trading pick 29 to the lions!

Bulldogs can be interested in whoever they want but i suspect that unless they are willing to give up decent players to get decent players they will be far from the most active in trade week!

Im hoping that the 2 guys that are pretty certain that Sherman wants to be a tiger are on the money! Im a big fan and while his inconsistant i think Hardwick could work wonders with a kid like Sherman that has blistering speed and loves breaking the lines and can kick a goal!

I dont really want to trade for Hawkins however if we did and it was only for Tambling it might not be the worst decision in the world. Hawkins is only 22 which is still considered young for most forwards and thus could still turn a very sharp corner and become very good.

He is used to playing in a team where he is a passenger, maybe he needs to take on more responsibility as a player before he becomes an elite footballer. He could be similar to Jonathan Brown who didn't really become elite until 5/6 seasons into his career. He originally played around a gun team but as he matured and the teams ability declined he stepped up as a leader.

...Just a thought but still dont want to make the trade.

Okay Guys.

Just back from an important brunch with my source.

He informed me that Will Thursfield is looking to get out. Hawks & Blues are interested if they can't get Tarrant.

Since it has been leaked through the media, our bargaining power has been severely damaged and my source exclusively revealed we will be working on a three way trade between Tigs-Blues-Crows. Blues get Thursfield, Crows get Jacobs and Richmond get Carlton's 3rd round pick.

After speaking with my source on my brand new Iphone 4 (since I'm so important I got this before it was released from ANOTHER source) I have been informed that Sherman will not come to Tigerland with our 2nd Rounder being our expense. We will only trade 2nd rounders onwards if they are picks we directly got from other trades.

After speaking will all my sources, I jumped into bed and familarised myself with another source, my girlfriend, this is confirmed.

With kind regards, CNB1990.
And what do the Crows give up to get Jacobs??

about a month ago i heard that we were after mitch clark and patrick veszpremi, since then i've heard nothing on mitch clark but veszpremi still looks promising and it was put on the afl site that he was looking for a trade (and i think we are lacking in small forwards so he would be a very handy acquisition). so if anyone could shed some light on any mitch clark situation, that would be great.

i also hope we get sherman, he would be a good half forward flanker capable of running through the mid and could kick 25-30 goals a year, i think he was down this year because brisbane were up shit creek, with some confidence he could be an extremely good player.

houli - i think is unlikely to leave essendon now that hird is there
thursfield - happy to trade and hope we do (we have rance moore gourdis astbury and grimes who all look very promising)
mcguane - ive heard he is gold coast bound (dont shoot the messenger)
tambling - i hope we can get a top 20 draft pick for him

i also heard yesterday that we are right into mark blake, take it for what its worth
my worst nightmare.
does anyone know if clubs can use their compensation pick this year? if, say, the Crows use their compo pick for Bock, does that pish our 2nd round selection from 29 to 30?

Hey Guys, first off great info DT always come on to read you what have to say. Met with Luke McGuane yesterday he will not be traded as ive said before he basically laughed and said hes been basically traded to every team. Obviously Thurstys gone which i dont know how to feel, although hes disposal is questionable i believe hes a great stopper and has good closing speed, ill miss him and i think our backline might aswell. Sherman was at Richmond again this week getting tests done and meeting with some of the boys, and Bashar is still keen but i heard that just before Hirdy was announced. 7-8 teams are very keen on Tambling but i think he'll go to a top 6 side probably to dogs hopefully for Everitt, i dont want Stack (lazy one position player) and i dont want Hill ( as we have Troy Taylor that tackles and moves better). If we get Sherman which im 97% sure we will he can add forward speed and pressure and hopefully snare 30-40 goals in 2011 thats all we need him for. I also really want Dowler, then our forward line Jack, Griffiths, Taylor, Dowler, Sherman, and possibly Everitt is very pottent. Go Tiges have faith guys Dimma will make the best calls for our side.

love this

wanna know why... we get sherman and we lose tambling :D my dream

my worst nightmare.
does anyone know if clubs can use their compensation pick this year? if, say, the Crows use their compo pick for Bock, does that pish our 2nd round selection from 29 to 30?
Sure does. Our pick could end up around 33 if other clubs use their compo picks too.

If Geelong chooses to use their 2 Ablett picks this year they will have a mid first round pick and then picks 22 & 23.

We could trade some of our players for Geelongs compo pick . These picks for Geelong are only good for them when they want to win a premiership which is now. Apart from the fab 5 all would be tradeable I would think!!!

Geelong will rebuild in about 2-4 years time properly, they will be at the bottom, the compo and extra picks then will be pointless for them at this stage as they need to wallow to accumulate very high draft picks as Bris, GC and GWS as well as Weest Coast lifts off the bottom

The Tigers must get that Geelong compo pick.

If we get it and can use in in 2012 say pick 10 that is gold.

I swear on various graves we are about 6 years away. For us get a quality mid say in 2012 in 4 years he will be in his prime at 22 and bang premiership excellerant he we come.

GET GEELONGS COMPO PICK,,

PLEASE GET GEELONGS COMPO PICK!!!!!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I assume we can pick the year we want to use it as all rights with it are tradeable in a free market!

This is the way the Tigers and Geelong play this unless they are complete morons!!!

Geelong basically, with the list they have, is all out premiership afterburner for the next 2 years. This means trading their mid range compo pick for players to a club like Richmond. They keep their other pick.

After 2012, Geelong gutter their list, time is up, get real and trade all the stars they will be straight to rebuild. They will kiss the bottom of the ladder for the next years years after the GC and GWS compromised drafts and rejoice in the draft picks they get. Towards the end, depending on the draft content they will use their other comp pick. Eg. They come last in 2014, then as I read it, get pick 2 with the other draft pick they have.

So the Tigers must chase Geelongs mid range draft pick. I don't care who we trade, except, Lids, Marto, Cotch and JR, all are tradeable even if we get even more picks. We have to go down to explode back up.

The Tigers have to get real and face their fears, forget the finals crap, the Tigers are chasing premiership glory as far as I am concerned!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Re: Rumour and innuendo

According to DTs info and the papers here is a rundown of who we're linked with:

- Sherman Veszpremi Everitt Houli Dowler and Grigg are all being targetted by us.
- Tambling Thursfield McGuane Nahas are all being shopped around by us.

If all that is correct then it looks like we're in for an interesting trade week. Of the names we're targetting I'm only interested in Sherman Veszpremi & Houli. Hopefully we can get them on deal that don't involve the trading of any picks inside the first 3 rounds.

Of the players we're putting up, I believe Tambling and Thusfield will go, hopefully both net us a pick inside the first 30 or are used in part to recruit the guys we're targetting. McGuane I'm not sure will go, as its been mentioned here that he is laughing at the rumour. Nahas if he can get us a 3rd/4th round pick which could be used for one of our targetted players would be a good move as well.

If we can somehow manage to walk away from trade week with:

6
15(rumoured McGuane pick)
A couple of picks in the 18-25 range(Thursfield & Tambling)
28,
Plus Sherman Veszpremi & Houli

I'd be quite happy. We would have added some depth to our list with the experienced players and would also be able to raid the top 30 of the draft and get 4 quality kids.

The only problem is I don't think it will happen.

The board has been getting clogged up with a lot of threads about rumour and innuendo. We love it! Keep up the good work everyone. This time of year is rife with all the juicey stuff.
But can we have all possible player movement via the rumour mill and the innuendo train in this thread please?
Thanks.

Just thought i'd repost this for all the Deep Throat knockers. Just ease off the person and let them speak. Attack the game, not the player.
