Welcome back!

Couldn’t get a deal done? Or Port didn’t want to deal?

Bit of both. The club were aware that Wines management was pushing him to test the waters (I posted it a little while back on here).

Everything is for sale, so the club would have let him go for the right currency.

Everything in general or everything at Port Adelaide?

If a Wines trade won't happen with Carlton, is a trade with anyone else likely?

That suggests it was manager driven rather than Ollie really wanting out of Port?

Can’t say for sure but the timing of the leak is very interesting/strategic.

My gut feel is that it’s related directly to the impasse between Carlton/Essendon/Sydney/GC.

Each of those teams have an interest in Ollie.

The really apparent direction pushed out of Melbourne throughout this trade period is to overvalue players from Victorian clubs, undervalue players from non-Victorian clubs and try to unsettle Victorian born players in non-Victorian clubs.

Fox footy's persistent misrepresentation of Howard's value until today was the latest example, preceded by the overvaluation of Fantasia, and now superseded by the Ollie rumour.

Foxfooty are no orphans, Trade radio is probably an even bigger siren call. You could believe some of those Victorian journos are on the payroll of big Vic clubs.

You have hit the pig on the snout there Ford. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Judging by the number of likes I am not the only one who thinks you are on the money. The Victorian media think that the football world starts and ends on the banks of the Yarra and muppets like McLachlan perpetuate this belief.

Point being? So you want to trade Ollie for unders just to get rid of him. That’s ridiculous

This years draft is pretty bad. I don't know that next year's is worse? Club needs to move forward. It's not going to happen whilst Ken is there with his boys. Cut the chord. Move forward. (there's lots of sydney players who would be great for our list if we wanted to get involved in the daniher deal - hayward, dawson, hewett)

not so much bad as heavily compromised, with so many top picks academy based, father son and nga etc

Perhaps when he was catching up with the Curnows family they mentioned it to Ollie jokingly and off the record said he said yes he would consider it and one of the Curnows then spread the rumour and mentioned it to Carlton?
Even though he is OS Ollie now has to come out and speak to the media and clear this up. Too much of he said she said type stuff and getting messy.
