The GC dont have to offer anything for himto us as compensation. read the fine print on the afl website.

From what I understand, re: the Ablett for pick 26 article, if Geelong wanted immediate compensation they could only get pick 26. They can choose to be compensated in the following years to get a better pick?

Yes a first round pick = a first round pick.... we would be waiting til 2013 to use it as a normal draft pick.... who knows how the AFL will compensate... But we CAN"T DEFER THE COMPENSATION FOR 2 YEARS AND THEN BARGAIN FOR MORE PICKS.........

There is no point. But I bumped in him 2 days ago and the subject came up. I was assured not to worry about it as Cotchin had been spoken to and his reply was he wants to stay at the club and is thankful to them for giving him his chance to play AFL.

The person is a big sponser in NRL and has afew contacts down at Richmond. I've been promised to be taken down to the rooms at a game this season so we will see how true this person is soon.

All I can say is, people on here are carrying on for nothing. If he goes, he goes. But going by what I have heard and how Cotchin speaks to the Media I doubt he would want to leave.

As RT said eariler, he loves his family and he wants to stay in Melbourne. His post pretty much summed it up nicely. We will all find out soon enough. I'll be sure to bump this thread when he resigns his contract though. Or else I'll have to apologise for calling someone a knob.

i totally agree, as of right now the GC have said they want him, just coz he hasnt come out and said he isnt going to the GC doesnt mean he is. id be suprized and shocked if he leaves the tigers.... i think he will extent his contact in the coming months

As much as I love a bit of talk about Richmond during the Pre Season this is beginning to become a joke.

'I know someone that knows something, my mate knows Cotchin's Milk Mans's brothers doctor' - Seriously guys get over it, you don't know anything or what the young lad is thinking. Only he knows what his going to do, and maybe Richmond's officials if a deal has been dealt.

I've got an idea, how about instead of worrying about who is going where, we deal with the fact that Cotchin hasn't had a full season, our list has been stripped to the bone, and this will be a lowlight in terms of our already sh*t 'decade'.

As much as I would love Cotchin come out and sign a new 3 year deal like that of Ziebell for North Melbourne, it probably won't happen.

In the mean time Richmond supporters need to stop feeding into the media circus, Gold Coast will claim average players at best.
