Why would I give a shit if it was WA vs the Allstars 😂 it's a charity game for the billionth time.

It's bloody hilarious how offended the other states are about this. Inferiority complex hitting hard.

Because we want to see a state of origin game, what don't you understand about that? Instead of getting all upset and waving your morality flag around the thread, why not try and understand the view?

I want to see state of origin more than anyone, however sooking about it because it's not in a charity game is a joke. If it was Vic vs WA then most of Australia misses out. How hard is that to understand

Victoria:
James Sicily, Mark Blicavs, Adam Saad, Bachar Houli, Darcy Moore, Nick Haynes, Josh Kelly, Dustin Martin, Lachie Whitfield, Shaun Higgins, Jeremy Cameron, Robbie Gray, Patrick Dangerfield, Tom Lynch, Toby Greene, Todd Goldstein, Marcus Bontempelli, Trent Cotchin, Rory Sloane, Jackson Macrae, Jake Lloyd, Tom Papley, Jade Gresham, Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom, Ben Cunnington, Stefan Martin.
All Stars:
Brad Sheppard, Harris Andrews, Rory Laird, Jason Johannisen, Jeremy Howe, Brodie Smith, Isaac Smith, Nat Fyfe, Bradley Hill, Shane Edwards, Jack Riewoldt, Luke Breust, Charlie Cameron, Tom Hawkins, Michael Walters, Brodie Grundy, Elliot Yeo, Dayne Zorko, Patrick Cripps, Neville Jetta, Callum Mills, Stephen Coniglio, Zach Tuohy, Lachie Weller, Lachie Neale, Taylor Walker, Scott Lycett.

Its an all-star game so no criteria to base selection on really, but for me, the bold are dodgy/iffy selections, not that i give a shit - glad only one Carlton player got selected. Even blokes like Goldstein are probably lucky based on 2019 form.

Thankfully Carlton - and Cripps better not get hurt.

I think all clubs looked at this and though - they need to play scratch matches anyway to get minutes up - so this is no more dangerous than any other game they'd be playing. Likely to be less dangerous as as much as it's the best players - they aren't playing for sheep stations.

Yeah agree, but if they are going to get injured id rather playing for carlton, under instructions from our coaches etc. Hopefully no-one gets injured.

One ACL and you can kiss goodbye to any future all-star games for a while (unless its an average player who got a gig)

There must have been injuries to top players back when SOO was played, which was probably why it was cancelled

Pragmatically - coaching instructions don't mean jack shit when it comes to ACLs. You can't exactly coach knee injuries.

I haven't counted the player numbers - but I assume everyone would only get 60-70% game time

What will make SoO dead will be the continuation of the AllStars concept. The fans won't buy into it long term

Anyone else worried this might be a boilover? Looks like the Vics will steam roll this all stars squad on paper. Hopefully the games played in good spirit and they allow it to be close.

We could even do Victoria, SA, WA and then an All Stars Team (NSW, ACT, NT, QLD, TAS and International), and have two knockout games and a GF

That and the fact clubs kept pulling players out (for fear of injuries) within the a week or 2 before the game and audiences dropped off. Add to that the advent of interstate clubs = format now redundant

But if Cripps is asked to play back pocket and gets crunched by a full forward and breaks a leg - id be pissed, he wouldnt be asked to do that for a Carlton game (i know it wont happen but an example). If it happens playing for Carlton, so be it. Playing in a charity match.......na ill be pissed
