You might find the cameraman may have been a volunteer

I don't know about volunteer but I think they would be used to filming rugby league in a straight line.

Many years ago I got offered to do the camera work at the races. They employed people from a film school and predictably they weren't that keen to head out to Moe on a Tuesday in the middle of winter to do the races when they would have went to film school in the first place dreaming of working on a Hollywood blockbuster. I didn't take up the offer because I knew I would be as shaky as the guy doing the VFL on the weekend.

Good recognition of Ted. He was becoming my favourite last year (dempsey took it back off him this year!) as I love the way he plays.

I am struggling though to figure out what he develops into? I haven’t watched as much vfl this year. Do others have a view of how we develops and in what position

I love the way Ted goes about it but unless he cleans up his disposals he will find it hard to progress to the next level

Cam Guthrie would be handy against Cripps et al, but I hope a couple of quarters in the VFL this week then a return to the seniors vs the Dees… Would be bold to throw him in, even as sub, and not necessary I think at 6-0?

I reckon he could be the next Bewsy type.. get bigger and stronger... or another Atkins type tbh.

Not overly talented but just hard at it and gets it out.

Mitch Hardie looks like an absolute gun, at least in the VFL, wouldn't mind if they gave him a crack at the big time pretty soon. Sounds like he's earnt it.

He looks like a good VFL plodder to me.

There's a ton of them playing at the VFL level.

Very Vanilla to my eye and doesn't look like he has many tricks to his game that would have him flourish at the higher level besides just grinding away.

P.S. I'm probably sounding a bit harsh here... Obviously I hope he turns out very good.

Half the time with these vfl guys you don't know until you elevate them. Sceptical but worth a shot

One issue with Hardie is he hasn't shown a lot of ability outside midfield. Atkins' development from VFL mid to AFL mid was brilliant but it took 3 full seasons as a small forward then small defender to get to the level.

If Hardie could play forward or back it would be much easier to get him into the AFL team and see what he's got. The problem is dominating VFL means beating up on young mids who he has a physical advantage over which is a different world to playing against Cripps, Walsh, Cerra, etc.

That's why I'd bring in Knevitt first cause he can step into a similar role as a defensive winger as he was playing in the VFL. Contests are just so much less important in that role and the step up to playing on Cottrell or Acres is much smaller.

I think there are plenty of very good players who look ordiany at the lower level, and visa versa. If we keep progressiing as we are ... I can see the lat 1/3 of the year guys like him might get a run.. even if its just to let others see what he might offer. For the moment I can see him getting past someone like Guthrie for example. The MC know what he can do at the level.

Id like to see how he handles the extra heat from increased speed. Time to just motor around would be reduced but maybe he just does what he can and doesn't make mistakes.
