Yeah. He's one of those players who I notice in the play far more than on the stats sheet. He sparks as well as gets the job done.
Certain things he does amazes me. The sort of things not on a stat sheet or highlighted post-game. But the eye test suggests he'll be a genuine weapon for us over the next 10+years!

Brandon Walker is one of the best lockdown defenders in the competition. And he's only going to get better
He's such a luxury to have when he's at his best. A defender being 1v1 chasing the loose ball with the oppos quickest small fwd is so often a certain goal but everytime I see Walker them I'm so full of confidence that he's winning the ball back.

I think it might have been Snuffaluphagus a week or two back who said if Fyfe stays fit we make finals, and utterly convinced that's the case. showed some trademark fyfe stuff today and was huge at the start of the 3rd

The double shove that lead to the Schultz goal in the second quarter was brilliant, very exciting stuff

We've managed to claw back to W/L parity after an awful start and our % is a smidge over 100. AFAIC the real season starts from here, we've reset the clock and now we get to see what the real Freo looks like. Can't wait.
Fair enough. Plus it is better to be here after wins against some of the better teams hopefully relegating the early season losses to an aberration.

Not sure if it’s been pointed out, so thought I’d bring attention to Banfield’s effort in the 3rd that lead to Walters 3rd goal.

Ball to be won deep on the wing against the boundary, destined to go out of play. He just thumps it forward to Amiss, handball chain > goal.

Supreme footy IQ.
Think the haters rather focus on so called clangers lol.

Not to mention the squaring kick to Walters or the quick play on from the 50 m penalty to schulz to Treacy ..both ended up in goals..

Even the goals he does kick, they dismiss as lucky rather than put it down as being able to read the play and position accordingly

I think there is more chance of us making finals than Fyfe staying fit. They aren’t mutually exclusive events.

Liked Banfield’s game and he had been good the past month.

Shame that IQ deserted him in round 2. He should have punched just like he did in your example but against North punched the ball through for a behind to secure a draw and then we could have pushed on for a win over North with still around 90secs remaining.

I stopped coming to this board as frequently because of the ongoing negativity towards Banfield, Hughes (and even Fyfe). It's incredibly unpleasant, and often unjustified.

Banfield has been awesome since he's been given the opportunity to play regular games, instead of always being the sub. Loved his interview tonight where he talked about being fearful of being dropped each week. That's horrible pressure that so many others have not had to endure.

Don't think players know exact time left. Perhaps it was that close to goal he was looking for a win rather than a draw and punching it back in one of the players had chance to get it.

Also from a kick in, it gives them a chance to set up and perhaps a chance to get it up the other end of the ground for them to score.
