Europe War in Ukraine - Thread 4 - thread rules updated

This is the thread for discussing the War in Ukraine. Should you want to discuss the geopolitics, the history, or an interesting tangent, head over here:

If a post isn't directly concerning the events of the war or starts to derail the thread, report the post to us and we'll move it over there.

Seeing as multiple people seem to have forgotten, abuse is against the rules of BF. Continuous, page long attacks directed at a single poster in this thread will result in threadbans for a week from this point; doing so again once you have returned will make the bans permanent and will be escalated to infractions.

This thread still has misinformation rules, and occasionally you will be asked to demonstrate a claim you have made by moderation. If you cannot, you will be offered the opportunity to amend the post to reflect that it's opinion, to remove the post, or you will be threadbanned and infracted for sharing misinformation.

Addendum: from this point, use of any variant of the word 'orc' to describe combatants, politicians or russians in general will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning. If the behaviour continues, it will be escalated. Consider this fair warning.

Finally: If I see the word Nazi or Hitler being flung around, there had better have a good faith basis as to how it's applicable to the Russian invasion - as in, video/photographic evidence of POW camps designed to remove another ethnic group - or to the current Ukrainian army. If this does not occur, you will be threadbanned for posting off topic

This is a sensitive area, and I understand that this makes for fairly incensed conversation sometimes. This does not mean the rules do not apply, whether to a poster positing a Pro-Ukraine stance or a poster positing an alternative view.

Behave, people.

Putin demands Poland reinstates Russian gas transit after Ukraine permanently cancels Russian gas transit:

If I were Poland I'd say no dramas. All you need to do is withdraw from Ukraine completely and agree reparations for your invasion.

Imagine a terrorist mob asking for help to replenish their fuel supplies ...

In the aftermath of the same storms which sank about 4 craft in the Black Sea leading to the ecological disaster we read about recently, its also been reported that a number of the barges parked in front of the Kerch Bridge as part of its defence, also sank.

You can see the panic, that they'll be forced to stop their invasion soon, as the economy (and Soviet equipment stocks) go down the gurgler completely before Trump forces Ukraine to capitulate. So doing every bluff they can. So frustrating that Trump can't see, he could go down as the US President who finally destroyed Russia, something great and respected Presidents like Eisenhower, Kennedy and Reagan couldn't accomplish, if only he sticks with Ukraine for just one more year. If Trump wants a legacy, there's one right in front of him, crying out to be grabbed.

So after years of threatening Poland, he wants Poland to do him a solid.

****en clown.

From what I have read, it was only those in the rear part near the tail that survived, so it seems that those at the front and middle which would include the pilots died.

They did all they could given the circumstances of being attacked and then duped by the genocidal Russian regime.

The tragic loss of life caused by the crash of the Azerbaijani aircraft was the responsibility of those carrying out the war : ie, Ukraine/NATO governments and the Russian government.

If Russian anti-aircraft defence systems destroyed the aircraft, it was due to the fact that the Ukrainian regime is carrying out drone warfare across vast swathes of Russian territory. Putin has admitted that aircraft defence systems were active in Grozny at the time of the flight of the aircraft, because the Grozny area was under attack from Ukrainian drones.

Remind us in who's airspace this happened?

Posters here were wondering how the Russian propagandists were going to explain this one, now we have a winner!

Nah, l’m putting this one squarely on you.

its your fault because you didn’t get your socialist friends in Russia to rise up and form a political party which then claimed government against Putin.

If only you acted this could have all been avoided!

Explain how this is Russian propaganda.

I clearly state that the Putin regime is responsible.

Just because I point out the equal culpability of Ukraine/NATO, you revert to your usual smear campaign.

It all goes back to the "unprovoked war" narrative. According to the imperialist propaganda (and the extreme right wing Ukrainian nationalists whose views are reflected in what you post here), Putin is a monstrous, evil, fascist who one day woke up and decided he wanted to conquer Ukraine. There was no other reason he did this, than his own insanely evil nature.

Therefore, according to this fantasy, everything that happens is the fault of one man...

Even if NATO gives Zelensky a tactical nuclear weapon and he instigates WW3 by dropping it on Moscow, it will still just be the fault of Putin, according to you and those like you.

Ukraine's airspace was abruptly closed by Russia's invasion in February 2022 due to the security risk for civil aviation.

russia seems willing to take the security risk for civil aviation. The risk didn’t pay off.
“The tragic loss of life caused by the crash of the Azerbaijani aircraft was the responsibility of” russia!

^Newsflash:

23 killed in a runway landing accident in South Korea

There is no one else to blame but Putin.

His unprovoked war in Ukraine has created an electromagnetic discharge in the atmosphere which is now interfering with all international aviation.
