Give him credit, he speaks well and looks to have a great attitude. He is only 17 so we should not he overburdening him with expectations. Skills and composure I do like that.

I think Duggan knew we were taking him before yesterday and with Cockatoo being a late invitee I think he was a second choice.

Highly unlikely. He's a skinny wiener at the moment, and well down the pecking order. Maybe later in the year off a flank perhaps.

It's no surprise he's saying that. Every club comes out and says they got exactly what they want and yada yada yada.

It's not like he's going to say "we wanted Cockatoo"

It's not just WCE, look at any clubs recruiters and they'll be saying similar things.

Don't think I've ever seen a club come out and say they really wish player A was still available so settled for player B, they all do it

What I do takeaway from the comment though is that it was those four players - cockatoo, Duggan, weller and laverde - who were most definitely in the frame for our pick

I was arguing that Duggan knew we were taking him before yesterday, so with the argument being we chose Duggan because Cockatoo was gone. We would only have known Cockatoo was likely to go before us on the day as he was a late invitee. I believe we had told Duggan prior to knowing anything about Cockatoo, basically we got our first choice.
