I get the feeling Jones was either being bullied wasn't well liked or didn't fit in with certain players at the doggies.
Seen some footage of him last season and he doesn't look happy.
Looks very comfortable now. His even doing some Media.

Exact opposite. Jones was part of a pretty tight-knit group with the younger guys.
McCartney seemed to be his problem. Bit too hard on him, Jones tended to sulk a bit if things weren't going great.

Was just giving some insight after someone made an incorrect statement. Jones was quite a well-liked guy amongst the younger group. Likes a laugh and was often host on BulldogsTV segments.

Yeah...it looked nasty..check out Ryan Griffens travel diary part one. Can't work out who it is that says
"you'll be on the pine" but talk about shooting down your young #1 key forwards confidents.
Please. What exactly is this based upon? I saw plenty of footage of players in navy blue who 'didn't look happy' last year either, do we think there is rampant bullying and exclusion going on at Visy? Long bow to say the least.

Don't you think if he really did enjoy his time there he would still be there.
Look at the differents in how he being treated at Carlton compared to at doggies.
At Carlton his Teammates and coaches are constantly pumping him up giving him confidents.
At the doggies he had teammates telling him he would be"starting on the pine" and laughing at him.
I don't think that is true at all mate.
He was pretty popular with his teammates at the Dogs from what I've heard.

It is easy enough to get around him now when everyone is keen for him to succeed and fit in, the test comes if he is out of form early in the season and not pulling his weight. We will then see the true test of how far our leadership group and club has come in regards to culture. I sincerely hope we are ready to show that our club is a destination of choice for all the right reasons. This kid could be the answer to our forward line woes, I hope we can avoid reverting to old habits at the first sign that things are getting tough, he may need some extra time and care.
The supporters need to buy into this as well, would hate to see the same crap that was dished out when Henderson first started with us, could have ruined him.

I'm willing to admit that only Liam knows why he left the dogs. He may have done because the dogs, during the trade period, at least were a right shambles, Carlton may have tabled a very decent contract as it is their burden to get him to agree to a trade. To say he was treated poorly, basing it on a comment with little to no context from a teammate, and because he didn't look happy one time is wildly speculative to say the least. You can slander the dogs all you like but I think drawing the conclusions you have from footage and that travel diary is very premature. Maybe even a bit ignorant.
There where serious problems at the doggies last year. We are a bit more informed here in Melbourne.
That trevell diary is not what I'm basing my opinion on.

Look it's not the end of the world..but for someone who oboiusly has self-confidents issues things like this is all it takes for them to start doubting them selfs.
Why have we never heard Jones pumped up like this before.. Has he all of a sudden become a super star.

In fairness Jones has always gotten a little bit of hype around him during pre-season, he's obviously quite a good trainer. The only difference between then and now is that he's a new recruit for us and has a buzz to his name, obviously the key now is for him to replicate his form on the track when the real stuff starts. Understand your point that little things can get under a guys skin if they have confidence/self-esteem issues, just think it's a little unfair to assume the Bulldogs playing group were against him or laughing at him because of one off-hand comment.
