Absolutely everybody was off. Couldn't even capitalise on Sydney's screwups. I hope we don't crumble mentally, got some more tough games coming up that could go bad like this one did.

Positives:

Papley had zero goals on LMac.

Didn’t see Arch get beaten.

Other comments:

To those who are saying dumb decision to drop Phillips, would not have made one ounce of difference if he played.

The better decision would have been to take McDonald instead of Phillips in the first place.

Tackles and overall pressure numbers down considerably today, a dip in application was expected over the next few, unfortunately it came against a team who pick you apart. Hopefully more competitive next week.
They were down but we did lift our intensity in parts. It's just that Sydney were classier, stronger, more experienced, more everything.

The first quarter was a huge missed opportunity to put scoreboard pressure on them. Sydney were not switched on at the start.

Our biggest loss of the year. 1 step forward, 3 steps back.

If it happens again next week it’s a step backwards, but surely no one here thought we could keep backing up with that intensity every week without a dip. Let’s be realistic here, they’ve done bloody well to go as hard as we have the last 5 weeks, a down week was coming.

SCG is also a terrible ground for us to possess the ball and create width.

Felt like we were just strangled at every opportunity. Couldn't breathe after quarter time.

We've been very good over the previous five weeks but against the best midfield in the comp we were given a harsh reality check.

The Swans have been building their midfield for 5/6 seasons, our midfield is really still in season 1, Sheezel, Wardlaw and McKercher will, I hope, learn a lot today about what it takes to get to the top.
