Kipster what makes you think Lowden 'has the makings of a star'? I can remeber him from juniors and the only thing he had going for him was that he was increadibly tall. he had little ability and was not quick. he was a far fetched development player with a big ? next to him.

There is no chance we can afford to play him hale and renouf in the same team, it would be structure suicide. As for suggesting him as a sub its damn right ludicris.

Renouf and Hale need to get better at giving our midfields first use. I dont mind rough having stints there. Bailey is our next option however if he gets through a year at box hill thats a pass for him.

We were good for 2.5 quarters against Cats, we need this win to get us to 4-2. wont be a walk over, Port will come out firing. we are far more talented though and these games need to result in 4 points.

This week Bruce and Rioli out
Puopolo and Whitecross(Sub) in.

Murphy will come into the backline for Bruce.

WhiteX will come into the forward line for Rioli.

Pops to replace Ellis.

Goo to be the sub again for mine. Reckon the role suits him.

Has murphy been in anything resembling form this year? I havent seen any of BH but the reports suggest otherwise.

How does replacing an out of form (but now injured) player with another out of form player improve our side?

Why not WX back and breust up forward?

How often do you see a defender playing the way Murphy does ever mentioned in the best? He does a job, he doesn't star.

Go and watch the kid play. He's quick, good by hand and feet, can kick a goal and most importantly is showing great signs as a genuine tap winning ruckman(not just a tall guy that can compete).

We might not see him this year, but when we do I think he may surprise a few.

Didn't say I agreed with the selection, just my take on how its going down.

Just about nailed it for mine, except for the sub.

Hawthorn has a track record of rotating the sub amongst players. Guerra has already been sub, so I'd be surprised if they went back to that particular well again. Bateman might be a chance to be the sub this time around.

If you consider 5 games 'track record';)

Port Adelaide at AAMI. Has to be my worst time of the year.

This year more then ever we HAVE to beat them. Sometimes I can brush it off and say we always lose over there, but after Gold Coast beat em, well, no one has an excuse of losing to them anymore.

I know who is coming in on Friday. But I won't be naming players. Let's just say this board we'll be happy with the ins.

In: M.Osborne B.Whitecross P.Puopolo
Out: C.Bruce (Inj) C.Rioli (Inj) X.Ellis (Omit)

EMG: K.Cheney X.Ellis J.Lisle

Does anybody know apart from Paul Johnson & Riley Milne who are both nominated rookies, are anyone of Wanganeen Schneider Breust eligible to play? Are they nominated rookies? Or can they be upgraded mid year? Would love to see Wanganeen play along side Rioli & Franklin at half forward :)

Milne is the nominated rookie. We can nominate another to replace Stratton who is on the LTI list but I have not seen this announced yet. After round 11 we can elevate a second rookie regardless of the long term injury position.
Johnson is still injured and has not been elevated.

I have heard that he is not far off from seniors, he is good at ground level, can mark (and we all know we need players who can mark the ball), is a reasonable kick for goals, can run and is getting better at the craft of tap ruck work after being under the tutelage of Monkey for a couple of years...

He was thought about for a debut last year...all I am saying is watch this space...:thumbsu:
