The best thing was the crowd taking the mickey out on itself after Houston kicked the first goal with a few minutes left before 3 quarter time. It's like why didn't we listen to those hinkley haters

For all his incompetence, his reaction to the Brisbane loss was the wrongest rein he could’ve pulled.

Rather than “injuries, good effort, tough conditions”, it should’ve been, “we should’ve found a way. we blew it”.

This goes a long way to why we’ve never been a reliable team.

A shocking upset, collapse or heartbreaker is always right around the corner, because the standard has never been non-negotiable and the consequences of defeat never starkly spelled out.

In microcosm, Connor Rozee has been taking the p¡ss all year and is in zero danger of losing his spot.

And the chief architect of this cultural binfire is being backed in by all and sundry.

Even, I can’t.

I suspected we'd be shit this year purely from the language coming out of the club during the off season.

You don't learn from success, you learn from failure. We refused to take ownership over two successive home preliminary final defeats. We glossed over it and assumed that we'd just get back there and have another go without ever addressing the root cause of those defeats (ie mental weakness).

We deserve to be where we are because we got smacked in the face with a reality check and took absolutely no notice of it because we were too busy wanking off about how great we are, how many premierships we're going to win and how many Brownlows Zak Butters is going to win.

He agrees now?
Probably hadn't been fed the club line for this week's abysmal performance yet, so went off script and accidentally criticised the club they way he would for any other.

By tomorrow he'll be on the club sanctioned talking points of injuries let us down / Melbourne had 7 good minutes / we are a good club. Just wait

Hinkley could read Mein Kampf at a press conference and the media would support him and paint it as something likeable.

Though honestly that would make him more interesting instead of such a boring man.

Are you sure he can read?

Kenny will call him tonight and he'll be back to 'back him in or he's the winningest coach of the last two seasons or you can't sack the coach in round 4' herp derp.
Lol... It's sad but true.... But the only thing I would change is that Donna will give kane a call cos ken doesn't have the balls.

That press conference was utterly bizarre. Hanging his hat on a final quarter when they're down by 50 and to that point kicked 1 goal in the first three quarters. Apparently they "kept coming." Wtf is this nonsense? What game was he watching?

It honestly felt after watching that presser that he was watching a different game to what actually happened tonight. The man is a delusional ******* and needs to go asap before the cancer of Ken spreads through the club beyond reproach.
Too late me thinks

Why doesn't our board do to Hinkley exactly what they did to Ollie Wines demoting him as captain. Demote Hinkley to a senior assistant developing players and bring in someone like Alistair Clarkson as coach.

Clearly there is something about Ken and that is why the board are hesitant to axe him. We haven't had alot of players want to leave while he was coach, maybe it's better to keep him.

Demote him and let someone else come in for gameday tactics

Ken doesn't take on the responsibility of leadership. Its the group, its the competition, its the club, its the players not available... He just never puts it on himself.

I think he is losing the group, he has the mature players, but the rest are questionable

The players just don't care, boak went straight for socialising after the siren joking around with the Melbourne players. And he wasn't the only one. Wines went out of his way to shake all the Melbourne players hands and have a good chin wag. They have put the cue in the rack already

Yeah because Ross Lyon always leaves clubs in a better place than when he got there
Ross Lyon is the Jose Mourinho of AFL without the trophies.

Don't think Clarkson and Buckley will give up Melbourne for Adelaide, nor do I think we should pay them overs in order to get them to come.

Personally think we need a coaching box clean out, with 4 or 5 new voices made of younger and older heads. Don't care who is the head coach but my preference would be 4-5 fresh faces to the players with the head coach probably be young enough to relate with millennials.

yeah lets sack hinkley. i am sure that will fix everything. fix boaks kicking. fix amons failure to ever kick a goal. fix georgiadis failure to take a mark or ever kick straight. yeah.
great stuff. lets sack hinkley and keep worshipping false idols
He's responsible for player development. As you've pointed out he's shi*t at it.
