Nicks may or may not be a s**t coach. It's impossible to tell with the absolute spuds they have on their list.

Definitely overachieved last year. This year is about where they're at.
So maybe the real villains here are their recruiting staff.

The beginning of the end was the loss against Freo. Even Rucci - the happiest paid clapper of them all said on radio yesterday (may have been Thursday) that Port has the most at stake going into this week's game against Melbourne.

In order to make the finals they'll need 13 wins with a healthy percentage. This magic number 13 hasn't really changed in the last few weeks. It has meant that in addition to winning the games against teams out of the 8, it has meant - assuming they would beat GWS, Essendon (away) and the Showdown, that they'd need an additional 3 wins from games against Freo, Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood and Richmond.

So far they lost against Freo, so they now need 3 wins from games against Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood and Richmond. It means if they lose tomorrow, there is no more space for any kind of wiggle room. And as the wiggle room evaporates, the talk in the media will turn from "gee what a great job Ken has done getting them into finals contention" to "well theyre out of the finals race, what does this spell for Ken's future?"

The media are a fickle bunch. 2 weeks ago after the loss against Freo the media were questioning Ken's future. A week later after beating GWS he is described as doing an amazing job.

Bottom line is if you win, you keep the media on side. You lose, you're in trouble.

Ken's reckoning is coming. Don't be alarmed by the talk now, let's wait and see what happens once we lose these next two games against Melbourne and Geelong - then the hyenas will be out with Ken in the firing line.

Mathematically, if we lose tomorrow and win the next 5 we still make the 8. If we win tomorrow we only need to win 4 out of the remaining 5 games. Essendon, Crows, Collingwood and Richmond at home are possibilities, Geelong at home is the one we would most likely drop, or if it came down to the Showdown, the camry's would have some extra incentive to win.

Why doesn't Rucci write for the Advertiser anymore? Did he get fired?
Yes lol. So our ****ing dumbass admin employed him to write propaganda.

There are probably 15 coaches more at risk of losing their job than Kenny. Don't you remember where we were in 2012?

Admittedly I’m not au fait with the municipal history of Japanese prefectures, but I reckon the Mayor of Nagasaki would’ve been under more pressure in 1955 than Old Mate Con Smirkley ever is with us.

Hinkley is a no hoper
So you're saying The Beatles?

"He's a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody

Doesn't have a point of view
Knows not where he's going to
Isn't he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere man please listen
You don't know what you're missing
Nowhere man, the world is at your command

He's as blind as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see
Nowhere man, can you see me at all
Nowhere man don't worry
Take your time, don't hurry
Leave it all 'til somebody else
Lends you a hand
Ah, la, la, la, la

Doesn't have a point of view
Knows not where he's going to
Isn't he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere man please listen
You don't know what you're missing"
