They have landed big signings for the last 5-6 years…how is it possible. “Creative” book keeping again?I wonder how they can afford to target more players?

Probably paying unders for a lot of the less known names at the club; similar to a gws style but less top paid talent. 350k isn't much considering the average wage is like 300kThey have landed big signings for the last 5-6 years…how is it possible. “Creative” book keeping again?
I am just amazed that a team that missed out on finals and has not been a finals threat for so long has been seen/dressed up as a destination club.Probably paying unders for a lot of the less known names at the club; similar to a gws style but less top paid talent. 350k isn't much considering the average wage is like 300k
And Bailey Scott has knocked back a contract a 4yr deal at 600k per year
I wouldn't put names to them, but if we are flush anywhere it's in the midfield. Trading one of them to rebalance the roster makes sense. If we need to trade out some class to get some class back then my votes would be Powell, Thomas and Scott. I am not saying I would like to trade any of those 3 necessarily but those 3 are the ones that would hold value.
It actually craps me off that teams get in players' ears with an offer but have no currency to get a deal done.If cats offer shitman or crapola picks - let Bailey go to the drafts
Not much on Bailey but what about that bloke in the US who is rooting his brother - that is some story! No Bailey story in the Money Ball section of the HS today even though it was posted online.

Big member base that actually turn up for games helps.I am just amazed that a team that missed out on finals and has not been a finals threat for so long has been seen/dressed up as a destination club.
That seems to be quite a substantial contract for someone at Bailey's level. And Bailey Scott has knocked back a contract a 4yr deal at 600k per year
SimpkinByTheDockOfTheBay did say that just yesterday Scott told someone he was staying. Would explain why Jon 'Journalistic Integrity' Ralph axed it.No Bailey story in the Money Ball section of the HS today even though it was posted online.

Hard to believe that the money being offered to Acres is so low. In the unlikely event that this article is true, surely we could offer more.
If he is that cheap I want him even more.I thought exactly the same thing.
Tbh I thought he’d be already commanding an above average AFL salary. Ie $350k+
Between 200k and 300k that's rubbish money, an insult even, clearly they don't value him, offer a third rounder and offer him 400kFrom Leader emerges in tense race for Freo gun; mystery over Bomber's future — Trade Whispers

‘Dockers are keen to keep him’……..I’d hate to see their offer if they were only lukewarm. That would have to be a reasonable pay cut on what they got him across on.From Leader emerges in tense race for Freo gun; mystery over Bomber's future — Trade Whispers

****ing Carlton lol. Do they ever develop any of their own. Into every man and his dog..Should we look at him too?
I was seriously expecting the final line to mention Ryan Pagan. But you're obviously saving that for the ultimate whackDenis was living so dangerously by the end of his time with us.
The club turned a blind eye when it was the odd Keenan Reynolds or Chris Grrom because sometimes he brought in a Peter Bell or Martin Pike.
But his habit grew out of control, starting to dabbling in Calthorpes and Olarenshaws.
By his last years at North he was ****ing around with some really hard stuff like McLarens, Porters and Bourkes and it was time to sever ties.
