He will bring up that we got him in the 50s, 100% certainty
I truly do not understand why people listen to this peanut. Only time I know what he says is when something gets posted on here or it’s printed in the media. He’s just a muppet that seeks headlines and trolls supporters, especially Tiger fans

Before everyone waves bye to Graham, lets not forget that time Dusty toured GWS and met with their coach and list manager and we all thought he was gone and then he turned around and said I'm good at Richmond and recommitted.

So until Graham comes out and requests a move I'm not fussed. Any player in his situation would be stupid to not at least sit down with opposition team/s and listening to what they have to offer to make it worthwhile asking for a trade. Graham knows he is wanted at Richmond and seen as a key player moving forward as older guys retire, so unless Port offer up a deal that is too good to knock back, I'm not so sure that Graham does ask for a trade.

If he does request a trade then it would suggest they have offered a too good to refuse deal and with that it means that what we can ask for from Port is more than what we're all thinking i.e. Amon compo if end of R1. If we could delay the Graham deal until after Taranto & Hopper were locked away we could very well end up with a scenario where we trade away Graham pick 12, pick 19, pick 30 and future R1 in return for Taranto Hopper & either pick 8 or Port R1 2023, plus additional cap space for 2024 with Graham off the books which then opens up the possibility to chase another established player to perhaps replace Jack as second fiddle to Lynch.

I'd give 19 and Graham for 8 if it was enough to get the Taranto deal done.
I wouldn't.

The goal is a seperate return on Graham, not a pick upgrade which would then go to GWS anyway.

Bring in an extra trade commodity.

GWS are going to ask for 19 anyway, so why lose a player for an upgrade which you've already lost?

Bring in a seperate pick (Amon compo or future pick) and only lose one of the picks.

Hopefully we play hardball. Wouldn't be considering given Graham up unless its for something significant
Dodoro the scumbag and whoever is currently in charge down at Carlstinksville play hardball. We have a rep for playing 'fairball'.

Still i hope we can come out of this sad news with a more than happy result as i hate Port Adelaide's guts with Level 10 venom!

Sure have!! I’m at ease if he were to go though, Taranto and Hopper are pretty well the same age and appear to be better inside mids. Do love Jack though and would prefer we retain him, but if he intends to move back to Adelaide at end of next year, we should cash in. Take their Amon compo pick I guess.
We don’t know the full circumstances and what discussions he’s had with the club, so whatever happens will be in his and our best interests imo. Narkle could maybe come in as a back up now?
Leave Port the Amon compo pick, and we take pick 8. Graham is a 2 time premiership player, captain material (in draft year he was captain of SA U18s) and is a true leader that drives team culture. That all adds to his value pushing him up to a MINIMUM of pick 8.

No way will they offer 8. Nor would we if roles were reversed

thats my other fear - that this speculation holds up the TT and Hopper deal as GWS will want to know what we can offer ....

I reckon the Taranto/Hopper deal will get done fairly quickly. GWS need it done and we're easy to deal with. It'll be a fair deal.

GWS will want it done quick so they still have the rest of the trade period to potentially on-trade for other players. They wouldn't want to wait until the last afternoon. Neither would we I don't reckon. We aim to be reasonably big players it seems.

Trades:-

Picks 12, 30 and Soldo for Taranto and Hopper.
Jack Graham for Ports Amon pick 19 and a third rounder.

Leaves us with Taranto, Hooper, pick 19, 20, 53 for this year and a full board of picks for 2023.

Would be nice, but 12, 30 and Soldo nowhere near enough for Taranto and Hopper. And no way would we get 19 and a 3rd for Graham…. if we could then take it and run!

I rate Graham and don’t want to lose him, but he’s a fairly limited player who I don’t think will badly hurt us. IMO Graham worth a pick in the early 20’s. I see him as similar value to Caddy when we got him and that was for a mid-20’s pick IIRC?
