A big fine for a strong financial club = minimal impact.

It's the same as fining players for wrestling, it doesn't work.

It's not like premiership points is going to hurt the Hawks either.

Given the state of their list I'd be surprised if they lose draft picks.

I thinknitnwill be a fine and then a whole lot of recommendations they will need to implement.

Please explain

You’re ignoring the information that Newbold accessed when making his decision on how to respond to Amy’s claim. It’s like you somehow believe that Amy’s claims are verifiably 100% accurate and already fully tested. And yet it’s her alone that is refusing to take part in the actual investigation. If you’re not starting to have questions re the veracity of those claims, then there’s something wrong with you.

Alastair Clarkson’s current position is that of a prize fighter, ready to swing at everything and everyone and refusing to take a backward step. Mark Robinson looks at a possible path forward >

It was also asserted that Clarkson had told friends he would sell his house and belongings to fund the legal fees to clear his name.

It would seem crystal clear Clarkson is set for the fight of his life.

Two men and two women have agreed to participate in the independent investigation, and the four panel members of the investigation will soon, if they haven’t already, start to visit them to hear their stories

It can be revealed today, another former player and another couple are considering whether to also tell their stories. At present, they are scared, but a level of determination exists.

That’s four people, possibly seven, with multiple stories about Clarkson’s behaviour at Hawthorn, stories and context and depth which Clarkson will get the opportunity to explain.

There are other stories, which cannot be printed today, but will be aired to the independent investigators, and which will be made public, according to the AFL.

It’s been described as a he said-she said scenario, but it’s more than that. It’s a he said/they said scenario. And ‘’they’’ believe they have overwhelming evidence that shows Clarkson is a racist at worst, and insensitive and ignorant at best.

It was also asserted that Clarkson had told friends he would sell his house and belongings to fund the legal fees to clear his name.
As if Clarkson would have to sell his house and belongings to come up with enough funding for lawyers LOL.

The only way he gets out of this with his name cleared, is if the allegations are proved to be baseless, not if they actually happened but are able to be watered down by lawyers. Even with context, especially re the 'pressure to get an abortion' allegation, no amount of lawyering is gonna clear his name.

Robbo's hinted there's more to come with other stories. But wait, there's more?

It's a They said, They said idiot. Clarkson isn't alone in this.

of course he is. Hilarious.

but it doesn't matter, he didn't conduct an investigation that was tasked with delivered an outcome. He accumulated people's stories and extrapolated from that. The AFL investigation will test the statements based upon the principles of natural justice and procedural fairness. If Egan mayoed his report it won't impact the proper investigation. Crook or not, the investigation is still required and it won't rely on anything that he delivered.

Most damaging Hawthorn racism allegations might not be heard in AFL’s independent investigation

Report author Phil Egan’s adviser Peter Jess on Friday said the alleged segregation of First Nations players from their partners could not be ignored despite what he says is a “strangulation by lawyers’’ of the process.

The AFL’s independent investigation into alleged mistreatment of First Nations families has received written submissions from former players and their partners, including four-time premiership star Cyril Rioli.

“The process is being strangled by lawyers,’’ Jess said. “This started out as a truth-telling exercise and now it’s mired by legal obscuration.

Amy* revealed in November she would not testify to the independent inquiry, with her lawyer stating she was “refusing to consent to the silencing tactics of the AFL”.

Because her story – and the report – cannot be tabled with investigators, it will make it harder to prove the most damning allegations.

It is understood neither Clarkson or Chris Fagan have yet to be interviewed by investigators.

Been stuff in the papers the last few days about the Essendon drugs saga

I can't be bothered reading any of it

It's become like our camp stuff
Colour me shocked but its Allan Hird asking the ''people in the know'' to come clean because 34 young mens lives have been ruined forever and that they were treated worse than Lindy Chamberlain

Behind the HS paywall

Hird Sr: Bombers ‘treated like Lindy Chamberlain’

James Hird’s father has called for a key Essendon figure to break his silence on a decision that changed the course of the supplement saga.

Allan of course is James dad

Lol, big difference Allan Hird... Chamberlain was innocent.... your son was guilty!

I think dank has come out to say his innocent again

10 year anniversary of the Bombers scandal!!!

It's not like this was Dank's 1st dodgy involvement.

There are a few gullible ones like Cornes that believe him, but the vast majority know he is dodgy.

Dank could finally provide details of what he injected into the players to prove his innocence... yet refuses... geez, I wonder why!
