He was also listed as a test for round 2, implying he should be close.
I think it’s a projection - we know Yeo isn’t an especially fast healer. It’s touch and go to see when it comes good

I think the way the game is like what Goodwin said after Pickets bump.

It's best to not even attempt it as there's such a high risk to getting suspended.
Simmo probably needs to tell Duggan to go the tackle over bumps.

In saying that it was a fair bump and he did everything right. Just is a worry because Duggan goes the bump a lot and one day it's gonna cost him a few games.

How do players compete for a loose ball and players come together?

Is a player expected to pull out and just allow the opposition to get it first?

Duggan's bump was text book. Never looked like getting his opponent high.

The bump isn't dead when done correctly. Sure its a risk.

Look going with one ruck worked this week but Darcy/Jackson is gonna be a huge test. Bailey is quite average but Darcy on occasions made him look like a ruck bag. After two shocking weeks this might be the match up Jackson needs to find form. If Jamo is fit, I would actually like to see him come in

Would you keep Waterman in as a permanent forward?

Hard to drop him after four goals but I’m not sure we can play him alongside Allen, Darling and two rucks.

Waterman deserves to say but playing an extra tall might mean he has to go back to his old role. Our mids were fantastic on the weekend but I don’t think they’re good enough against a freo midfield to were we can concede the ruck advantage. We have struggle to contain opposition momentum with they have a run on and i can see the dam wall breaking at a stage if Bailey is the lone ruck.

I don't see the point, he's not ready to play AFL ruck, might as well just roll with Waterman again who is at least a threat in the forward line as well.

Nah, we've finally fixed the imbalance of playing two dedicated rucks and there's no need to go back. Jamo is no bigger than Waterman and is nowhere near as good up forward.

Bailey needs to be told to aim to try to nullify any clean hits to advantage and our midfield needs to expect we'll lost the tap. They should just rove off Darcy.

Sit Ginbey of Brayshaw to nullify him with a much bigger body and we should be able to limit the damage. Our defence should dominate their forwards and rebound from there.

I don't know how much longer Gaff has left on his contract, and obviously if it is longer than this year then we will need to keep him on the playing list next year so we are not paying out multiple years of his salary all this year, but if his current formline continues is it time to have the respectful chat with him and give him the facts of life speach that he no longer warrants a spot in out 22 and we think he should retire gracefully and with respect for the contribution he has made? Or the alternative is end his career running around in the WAFL. I think we are approaching that point. What is the point of playing him in front of Hough or Culley?

He did have a shocker tho im not totally willing to rule him out as not up to it yet.

Best case scenario is that Freo try and use Darcy predominantly as a forward. Reckon our defence will probably be able to cover him.

Nah not advocating for Jake being dropped. Baz was actually decent on the weekend albeit against Flyn but even Nullfying the opposition ruckmen is a huge task. He’ll probably be a lot better suited to Jackson but He struggles on blokes like Darcy that are big and strong.

Brayshaw isn’t just a good inside player but he is also an elite runner that finds heaps on the outside. Ginbey has endurance but he is going up against one of the comps elite runners. He’s probably better suited to go an minimise Will Brodie’s impact

I don't think he's necessarily not up to it, I just don't think he's ready yet. Don't think he really gives us anything in the ruck that Waterman wasn't and he definitely doesn't provide the same ability to hit the scoreboard as him

We are going to get beaten in the ruck. I'm not sure throwing more resources at the problem is the solution if the end result is we still lose the ruck by a large margin.
Bang.

Bailey and Jake. We lose the ruck with Bailey and Jamo, and lose more around the ground.

This way we lose a handful more ruck taps but have more mobility, and a four goal forward doesn’t either make way or change his role significantly to accomodate an ever so slightly less potential touch up in the ruck.

Teams have conceded the ruck to us for so long with Nic Nat in the game, and we don’t win 100% of the clearances when they do. No change to the ruck strat, don’t get too clever for your own good folks.

Would like to see Hewett start at the expense of probably Chesser.

If there's still concerns about his tank, he could be subbed off early for one of Hough or Chesser? Not exactly like for like players, but we have enough flexibility to make it work.

Barring any mystery injuries, the rest of the squad played well enough. Coming off our best performance in 1 year+, so wouldn't mess with too much for the sake of it.

Updated my changes following recent news.

OUT: Chesser, Hewett
IN: Culley/Clark/West, Hough (Sub)

Give Chesser a run in the WAFL to build confidence and put a contested ball winning mid in his place, Culley is up top on the list but if he's injured then either Clark or West can come in instead. Brady Hough to play tactical sub so we have a fresh speedy player late game.

Why Hewett?

Of course the Yeo/NN mystery continues, but now Culley with a shoulder scan?

Not surprised Culley is getting a shoulder scan - injured it in the WAFL practice match on Saturday in the third quarter

Played for a little bit after having it strapped but didn’t return for the last quarter

They’d need to have a look at it, even if it’s only to confirm there’s no damage
