The bottom 4 are also the lone holdouts to the left of this venn diagram. But we’re barely ahead of them thanks to the mastercoach constantly at the top of his game, so that’s a relief.

It's almost as if winning a premiership creates some opportunities after football.
What a shame that all we have now is a group of dog breeders.

That Ebert never got to dedicate a premiership to JMac still burns for me, as does the Hawthorn game last year and the latest joke prelim performance.
Is it August yet?

And yeh I know I missed a few.

It's actually quite crazy, Primus & Francou (injured), Dew, Hardwick, Monty, Carr, C Cornes, Kingsley, Brogan, Mahoney, Lade, Schofield, S Burger. Media Tredrea & Kane. Then you have Chaplin who has been assistant coach, Surjan now a SANFL coach. Wilson did some running/fitness work.

From the squad at least:
20 went to work further in the footy industry
2 in media
17 of them went on to a coaching role
9 of them have been a head coach at some level
4 of them AFL head coaches

Unbelievable really.

And we only won 1 flag....

Who does not hold that image of him at the moment? I doubt even the AFL think he's good for the club. He's there for their interests, not ours.

Other clubs don't give a crap. Other clubs' fans think he is a dick, amongst most of the other things.

To the media, he is one of them. It takes a lot for them to go against class-interest.
I think his image is well controlled. I think Koch is very good at using the media. It makes up for him having no idea to run a football club.

Some people like him, some people think he's a dick, some are bored of him on the Morning Show but if his image is one of ruining a club and foregoing its members and fans and it becomes normalised, he will leave.

Let me put it this way, if he becomes a laughing stock to all, then he will leave.

If the right circle is changed to grand finalists, then Port is all on its own outside the Venn? Oh the stability.

Port Adelaide seeking big response from poor start as Ken Hinkley’s future becomes hot topic again

GWS parted ways with Leon Cameron last year after round 9. Where will Port Adelaide be sitting at that stage, and what will that mean for Ken Hinkley?

GWS parted ways with coach Leon Cameron after round 9 last season.

At that point this year, the football world should have a reasonable idea about what will unfold for Port Adelaide and Ken Hinkley.

A fortnight after an impressive round 1 home win over Brisbane, the Power is leaking goals and Hinkley is under the pump in the final year of his contract.

Port Adelaide great Warren Tredrea says the situation is “untenable” for the 11th-year coach.

Power chairman David Koch insists the club will not make a decision on Hinkley’s future until August.

You would expect things might come to a head one way or another before then.

Port Adelaide’s next six weeks will be crucial in deciding if the club is to make the finals. And featuring in September is surely the absolute bare minimum Hinkley must achieve to give himself a chance at a new deal.

Failure to win either game this coming fortnight will be disastrous for the Power’s top-eight hopes.

These chokers played finals in seven of 9 seasons (from 1999 to 2007); finished in the Top-4 in five seasons; won the minor premiership THREE years in a row; reached GF twice; and won a flag.

Does she really want to go through with this comparison?
Never lost a home preliminary final

See I would actually have to bother to go to the game and well hard pass.

I’m well aware my performative groaning would grate on some (most?), but as an early-adopter to “NO WE KEN’T”, the idea of actually dragging my arse to Adelaide Oval to watch predictable dross get served up by the bowlful — especially in night games — a good 6 years after the horse bolted, is pure anathema to me.

The Brisbane game was my first in actual attendance since walking out of the Prelim at 3QT, accompanied by the concussive nightmare that is that shameless KFC ad.

Having seen joyous Eagles and Tiges players, coaches, WaGs and fans celebrating their great victories in 2017 and 2020, I’d be damned if I’d sit through a third round thanks to a ramshackle and eminently beatable Dogs’ outfit.

As I was repeatedly on deck during the windswept terrace’n’tarps era at Footy Park, I totally get it if people keep going largely to catch up with mates or enjoy a few bevs or whatever, but if all those stony-faced couples and lone wolves among us are still going out of sheer habit or in earnest expectation of seeing footy to be thrilled by and proud of, then bloody hell.

Those ones should fill the void left by the Boer War and Boxer Rebellion vets and march up the front on ANZAC Day.

“Thankyou for your service”, from the remaining sanity and sanctuary of my couch.

Just shows how dominant Port and Brisbane were at that time. They were just better finishers.

Look at Brisbane from that period:
Voss, McRae, Leppitsch head coaches.
Brown, Lynch in media.

Thats just off the top of my head, Im sure there are many more.

Fair old coaching/footy department battery beneath Choc too:

• Alastair Clarkson
• Phil Walsh
• Dean Bailey
• Andrew Russell (was Burgess 2IC before replacing him?)
• Chris Pelchen

Nearly every conversation I have with someone who's looking to give me s**t for being a Port Adelaide always goes something like this:

Them: "HA HA Port are s**t!"

Me: "Yeah, we need a new coach"

Them: "WTF? No way!"
This says a lot.
Any media commentator who still wants ken as our coach is happy having us just where we are.

Oh boy it only took 3 weeks for us to get the bare minimum down from a grand final to "making finals"

Tredrea is on 5AA right now, mentioned the photo of Michael Wilson with Fos’s words of wisdom

Once upon a time I would have started a thread called Ken Quits! and then put this breaking news in the OP

Ken Wyatt has resigned from the Liberal Party over their opposition to the Voice to Parliament: West Australian

But you guys would hunt me down if I did it now. :p
