Be great if we can 2 more years out of Lynch.
I’d like another 3 minimum.

I think Dimma probably needs to change his role. With the JR/Lynch combination, he tends to push up a lot higher, because Jack is mid 30s and simply not capable of covering the km he used to.

Play Lynch deep and extend his career. To do that we need a kpf capable of playing high forward role

I'm hoping that player is Ryan. But if not then we should be keeping an eye out on someone of the matchwinning capabilties of Lynch.
Anyway you look at it Hummingbird isn't that player.
Not the way he is being played at the moment he is not

But they dont grow on tree's and we cant wait for 1 to fall into our lap and be noncompetitive
Himmelberg is a competitor that has the game and physical attributes to be a 50 goal foward similar to the role Jack has performed since 2019

Which will happen organically

You worry about replacing lynch when he does retire
by that time we will have even more players finishing up also
Grimes and Prestia and probably Martin as well

Not to say that you still wont be developing your own
You're right. We need replacement for JR first up. A 195 type

Worry about Lynch later. Plenty of 200cm types around too

I don’t know a lot about Treacy, I think I’ve seen some highlights, that’s about it.

Would ask the question though why isn’t he currently getting a game for Freo?
He was injured a lot of last year and just couldn't get a clean run at it. From what I can tell he's a similar type to Fogarty at Adelaide. Still carrying a bit of weight and growing into his body. He's only 20 but has some potential. One thing for sure, he's a lovely long straight kick as a rule. I hope we're having a close look at him because he's a natural al forward and by the time he's 24 he could be a real player. He's inconsistent at the moment and still learning the game at the level but geez, he shows some good signs. Victorian lad too. He'd be a gamble but a cheap one.

Replacement for JR plays the mobile fwd role with more mobility than jack.

Lynch coming off another injury setback. I have low expectations of what he can do on the field.
Modern footy.. can't hide anywhere on the field

HH hasn't been able to hold down a consistent spot at GWS and we want him here, and supposedly happy to offer him $750k - $800k a season, give me a spell.

If we get him on the absolute cheap, and I'm talking $450k-$500k then yes, I see the value he may add to our side, but offering him big money when he has had PLENTY of time to establish himself as a key player at GWS and hasn't, and hoping he will suddenly do that here at what, age 28, we are kidding ourselves.

In fact, I'd offer that to Tabernar at Freo before I offer it to HH, and Tabernar has never become the player who could/should, but at least we would know he could play KPF all the time and take an oppo KPD.

Anyone seriously considering Taberner needs to be committed he is trash
Will dine out on the 7 goal game for the rest of his time on an afl list
I live in Freo and know a lot of their supporters and am just passing on their thoughts on tabs

No, I agree with you, absolute waste of talent he has turned out to be...
But tell me which one is which:

Career stats, with one of these inflated by playing down back as a lose man regularly

For the record, I am not saying I want, or we need Taberner !!!

I'm just pointing out, that their out put is similar, so why the hard on for HH
I think because he has fairly large scope for improvement, good hands, great set shot, huge tank, versatile (fwd, back, ruck) and is a free agent in a year we have some cash being free'd up and no 1st round pick.

Really, he 27 now I think, so 28 next year, what "Large Scope" for improvement does he actually have. 27 he should already be in his prime.

I agree he appears to have great traits, but the reality is, he doesn't show them often enough for us to put a large offer in front of him.
His best looks great, I also agree, however he is so inconsistent that her doesn't warrant the offer.

The only thing going for him is his FA status, he wouldn't cost any draft collateral, but we laugh at the stupid money Carlton threw at the like of Martin and McGovern, this would be similar IMO

He's 26 and GWS have only had one decent KPF reach somewhat near their potential in their existence - Jeremy Cameron, and even he's a far better and more complete player now than he ever was at GWS.

As long as the contract doesn't cripple us in the future (which I can't imagine it would given how many well paid retirees we will have in the next 5 years) then who cares? Everyone laughed at the McStay deal too and even though he's just playing a role I'm sure pies are more than happy.

Leave him well alone or better still read freo board comments following any recent senior games , much better backing Bauer and bradke

I live in Freo as well. What are your thoughts on 20yo Josh Treacy ? Has shown a bit at times. He'd be way cheaper than HH and has plenty of upside.

Yea his body is a worry , breaks down a heck of a lot , his mits are best in the biz
Thought he has been pretty consistent for us, never really had any big injury’s until this year and generally plays 18 or 19 games a year
Gets the odd niggle but most players do these days

He's easily as good or better as what we've seen so far from Bauer or Bradke. Neither of those guys have even played at senior AFL level. His debut year he played well at senior levelas a kid and showed lots of promise.

Moves well, can catch it and a good kick. Since then he's copped a couple of injuries and hasn't bounced back. Will be a good player when he gets a decent run at it. Plus as I already said, Vic kid and cheap as chips to get him home.

Kid needs a change of environment. Out of contract end of 2023.

Bring him back home.

Are his performances at state league any better than our untried kpp prospects at state league ,, he’s been bloody ordinary at afl level , he’s a bush lug, pass
He's been injured almost all of last year so hasn't come on that's all. So lately at AFL level with limited opportunities he's been average. But I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about 2021 and he was blitzing.

Compare his limited highlights package at AFL level as an 18 yo compared to Bradke's and Bauer's at state league or country level it's no contest. He shows more than both of them and has proven he can play at the level.

I'm betting you've never even seen him play.

HH got thrown in the backline Under the caretaker coach and did a reasonable job last year.

Mostly HH has been KPF with Cameron and Finlayson.

If anything he's shown he can play multiple positions.

McStay has been chucked into the ruck occasionally. He got $3 million

Over their careers HH and McStay are almost identical. McStay been a 3rd KPF behind daniher and hipwood.
I'd rate HH ahead of Riccardi and on par with Hogan.
HH is from NSW so no go home factor.
I hope we get a look at gibcus up fwd when he returns cos HH ain't coming to punt road on the cheap.
