The former Richmond coach has declared he “misses” coaching, and would “be lying if I said I couldn’t see myself doing it (again)”.
I'm not sure it's as simple as the "herp derp he's on the bench he's not the coach" narrative people are going with, I certainly think that Carr and the other coaches are taking on more on match day, but I doubt Ken is just some old guy patting people on the back and cheering goals from the sideline.Instead of sacking Hinkley... As much as I would like that... Just come out tomorrow and tell the truth.. Carr is coaching.
That would be plausible if Hinkley had done this from the outset but it's not. All of the changes we have seen thus far this year are the complete antithesis of 10 year Hinkley. He's renowned for having full control and no change. What we are seeing is simply not him.I'm not sure it's as simple as the "herp derp he's on the bench he's not the coach" narrative people are going with, I certainly think that Carr and the other coaches are taking on more on match day, but I doubt Ken is just some old guy patting people on the back and cheering goals from the sideline.
It's perhaps something like what happens in other sports (NFL, etc) the coaching team creates a gameplan prior to the game/season, and on matchday the coaches box strategizes and makes calls based on the plan and runs them by the coach on the side line, and modifies/runs with them based on his backing. I can certainly see why it would work better, imagine working in that kind of environment with your boss constantly on top of you, whether they're a good boss or not you still need that separation.
No one is saying McRae isn't coaching Collingwood right now and he seems to be using the same setup, same with Brisbane, Carlton....... well........ f**k knows what's going on there, it looks like no one is coaching that mob.
No doubt AFL funded.Melbourne media already have him coaching Gold Coast.

Is that based on any evidence? Or the result of a groupthink from an internet echo chamber? That would be plausible if Hinkley had done this from the outset but it's not. Apart from attending games AFL, SANFL, AFLW, watching it on tv, reading, listening, going to the AGM every year, going to the Club, watching training, it's definitely a result of a groupthink from an internet echo chamber. Is that based on any evidence? Or the result of a groupthink from an internet echo chamber?
Definitely groupthink echo chamber and you're smack in the middle of the chamber in this thread. Is that based on any evidence? Or the result of a groupthink from an internet echo chamber?
