I'm going to play the new age leftie here, but I reckon some of the disparaging comments on here about the Saints and being a rabble, pathetic etc are way over the top - and frankly a bit deluded given our monumental list of failures over the last 20 years.
Agree.

We have zero credits in the bank to be like this.

They have sat is the 8 all year. They can be cold, but they can be hot as well. A lot of other fans were saying the exact same about us beating weaker opposition.

Reality is, the competition has never been so even and being 5th on the ladder pretty my the entire time whilst there's 11 other clubs vying for that position is nothing to scoff about.

Give me a 1 point win and no injuries and I will be one happy boy.

With respect to this game............

Externally I'm like.......

Internally I'm like.......

But actually I think it's more like........

Because at the end of the game I'll be like.........

But really none of us are like.

This is like:

Just don't be fooled though. This is merely an image of like. The real like is in the bottom right hand corner of every post that isn't ours.

I hope not. Bring Binns in and Dow sub.

Obviously just my opinion and for all I know Binns May debt this week, but I doubt we’ll see Binns this year in the league side.

I think the current team understand the gameplan really well and everyone knows exactly what to do, so I think changes will be minimal (unless forced thru injury), and will typically come from the core group of players of which Binns isn’t quite part of yet. Same goes for Carroll, S Durdin etc.

It was noticeable that the newer players were the ones who occasionally “broke the team rules” on Friday, for example
- Cincotta not blocking out Mcstay for his mark and goal in the third
- Marchbank handballing back into the corridor late in the third
- Kemp got an almighty spray from Weiters for not taking a short kick option as they were attempting to run down the clock before 3 quarter time

These little nuances can cost goals and as good as Binns is playing it’s easy to see him get overawed in his first game and forgetting team rules. IMO it also gives some insight how highly the coaches rate Hollands’ football IQ.

Also I don’t see anything wrong with dishing out a decent apprenticeship in the 2s to the young guys now we are a more settled mature team.

With that in mind I suspect we’ll see either Ed or Fish coming into the 23 as the sub and Dow into the starting 22.

I agree with you as I’m not sure why some posters need to so dismissive of them - it gives off real insecurity issues to be wishing a club fold - although it goes both ways with some of vitriol on their board about us just as bad if not far worse, for example one poster wishing a serious knee injury to Charlie.

St Kilda fans are obnoxious, vulgar and extremely cocky for a club that has only won one flag.

And then there is the whole issue of them poaching Aaron Hamill off us (still a bit filthy about that)

I could understand Port and Pie supporters questioning our form leading into each of those games

But Saint supporters questioning our form is delusional, especially when the have only beaten WC, North and Hawks in the last 7 weeks
And been far from convincing in doing so.

They actually remind me a bit of where we were at prior to the losing streak. Scrappy wins against bad sides given a bit of an illusion of competitiveness, then get a massive shock when play good sides.

Their 1st quarter on Sunday was impressive , albeit against the Hawks .
Mitchell was way to slow to react.
Wouldn't think that we would fall into the same trap. Our form is super strong at the moment

Really hoping.for some rubbish at the selection table this week (if you get my drift 😉)

Far far worse on their Board.

Noticed not only one but several of their posters wishing one of theirs take Charlie out one way or another.

Disgraceful wishing injury on any player!

What I've been thoroughly impressed with is how our game plan and system has held up even with key outs from the team.
Walsh - Didn't play against Pies
Cerra - Subbed out before HT against Pies
Harry - Subbed out early against Port, didn't play against Eagles or Pies
Kennedy - Didn't play against Port, Eagles or Pies

Team last time we played them in Rnd 6:-

IN: Cincotta, McGovern

OUT: Saad (hamstring), De Koning (managed), Plowman

And that's exactly how you build success

Don't need the best talent, gameplan or coaches

You need cohesion, continuity and most importantly buy in by the whole

St.kilda are a combative lot if unchecked , should they turn up well synchronized come to play, they're able to produce exciting footy.
Player availability as always is the difference, should be a good game, both teams have finals inspirations and need to win.
Charlie will play a significant part in our win . Go blues

I will be extremely delighted and relieved when I hear the final siren after we smack the Saints.
Then I will be very excited at the prospect of Carlton Vs Demons.
Go Blues...

100% agree on that and in fact I reported one of the comments but it looks like it hasn’t been deleted. I’m not sure what our mods can do about things posted on other club boards as it was very distasteful stuff.

Nothing surer than the Saints playing like their lives depend on it next week. Always their grand final only for them to fall back to mediocrity a week later

As long as Membrey doesn't look like Tony Modra 2.0 against us and then a VAFA footballer the next week...

I couldn't handle that again.

I really hope Jack Martin continues his form. Will go a long way making the gap from our unavailable players.

Not much really.
