One more very important thing to remember is making a GF and losing feels if anything far worse than just making up numbers.
And three quarters of the premierships in Ken's time in the job have been won by just three clubs.

Yeah, but if you don't make it to the GF you can't win the flag. Pretty basic.

Ken has never given us an opportunity to win a flag during his tenure because he can't make it to the most important stage. Hawthorn made the most of their opportunities in preliminary finals from 2012-2015 and won 3 premierships as a result, winning those games thereby giving yourself a shot at actually winning the flag (and then winning the damn thing) are why Clarkson will go down as a better coach than Ken despite Kenny's superior H&A Win-Loss record and media friendly persona.

Ken may have been unlucky in 2014 or 2020, but in a performance industry your legacy is written by how many premierships you win, not by how many times you lose a PF by a kick. Unless he actually wins something he'll go down as a historic loser, and history tells us he doesn't win.

I reckon the best thing to do is back your coach in for the next few seasons and hope for the best rather than eating yourselves up over a bit of bad luck a few years back.

You could've written this in 2017 and it still would've been too late for "hope for the best" vibes. He's been on borrowed time for years, the fact that he's about to be extended without proving he can make a Grand Final is unconscionable mismanagement of the highest level.
