Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

Really don’t want Dusty to go, but we would win either way IMO. If he stays, then we get more of him. If he leaves, then Gold Coast will work something out with us in terms of picks. They’re usually not a difficult club to deal with at the trade table, so I’m sure we’ll work something out.

Only time we lose is if we continue to pay a big portion of his salary over the next few years after leaving.
He’s only contracted for 12 more months

Theres way to sell it.

Great club allows veteran leave to chase a flag.

He shouldn’t be captain regardless. One of the dumbest decisions made recently.
Chase a flag?? You don't go chasing a flag when you already have 3

If he was intent on leaving and we’d never bloody know until it’s done , The mechanics would be we pay 1/2 salary and command top 10 pic plus hollands that release 600 or so for them to accommodate dusty
That would have to be the deal. Pick 5 and Holland's and we pay at least 600k next year. I'd do that

Haha hi *******.

Nice to see you still don’t have a life.

Enjoy posting every minute of everyday. Tropical tiger hey. Not seen the outside of your mums basement since I left.

Yes good old Danny Meyer. Was in a system that produced so much. Top talented kid who was continually misused but suffered from a bit of homesickness. Had all the talent in the world. Don’t think I compared him to Ian Stewart to be fair but not like you to overhype something to make a point.

What happened to this place tigs2010? Surrounded by a bunch of imbeciles who get offended at differing opinions.
if Danny was so good how come power or the Crows didn't snap him up
maybe it's just you and over rating your opinion again.

Careful pal. This tickets will fly

Why would that be a problem if we had no other big name player come in to fill that salary void? If it meant that we got one or two elite 18 year olds (who would be on minimal pay next year so would not require much of the $1.3M) high in this year's draft then I'd definitely consider it.

The only possible gripe I would have with us paying a large portion, and it's probably not likely anyway, is that we could instead front-load someone else's contract to free up some future cash for a big free agent when we're really ready to go again (eg. in 2026 Lukosius, Walsh, Butters, the Kings are all free agents). Imagine if we'd already pre-paid Shai or Noah an extra million by that stage.

Look at it this way.

Hawthorn were confident enough to trade out Mitchell and O'Meara because they had the confidence in Day, Nash, Ward and Newcombe, alongside the high probability of drafting Mackenzie to help revamp their midfield, and as we look at it now, they clearly made the right decision.

If we were to do the same to Lynch, who do we have at the club, is able to draft or can trade for that gives you the same confidence that helps establish our next premiership forward line?
Could you trade Lynch for Brodie Grundy, sign Riccardi, trade out Nankervis. Maybe Swans take Nankervis.
You would expect Melbourne if they don't win the flag to give you Grundy, F3 for Lynch.
Riccardi worth about pick 35, Nankervis about pick 40. Swans might pay more than 40 for him though.

I would just rather swap HRS and Riccardi (HRS still linked to GWS after last year), throw in some steak knife picks, and form our forward line around Lynch and Riccardi.

I don't necessarily see why we should pay a premium on a ruck when we could save the cap space to sign a marquee forward, and develop Ryan as our next main ruck.

Can someone bump the Danny Myer thread

Pretty sure he did go to power on rookie at least , did nothing , was a total disappointment

I've got a big signed, framed Richo 250th game memorabilia piece with big photo of him walking off the ground after the game and who are the only other blokes in frame walking off right next to him? Danny ****ing Meyer and Richard Tambling :$

People can live with Dusty going but lose their s**t at Nankervis being traded. It’s a strange thought process. One of our greatest of all time players who is still performing at an elite level to leave would rip the heart out of the joint.
Well theres a fair difference in forcing your contracted captain out and granting a trade request to a bloke that has given us everything we could've wished for and more over the last 15 years....

Why on earth would we swap lynch for Grundy?!? I’d much rather Soldo than Grundy

Paddy Dow as others have said would be cheap and fit in. No trading out Dusty unless he wants out. No to Gresham - decent player but would keep Richmond mediocre. Next year get a pick in the top 5 for a gun mid and save all the dollars for Lukosios and King etc.

That AA ruckman was on crippling salary cap money and the reason he was moved on. It was a decision that club made for the betterment of the club. A smart club decision that has looked to paid off in spades. They haven’t missed him and improved their future.

Never once have I said Nank is “no good” you simpleton. I’ve said, if you open your eyes and watch the game, understand that his strengths are being fazed out and his weaknesses getting exposed more as he ages. Timing is everything and being smart enough to see his decline, the position we are in, what we could get from a trade, to me it’s the perfect storm to trade and improve our future.

It’s so frustrating trying to have a discussion with these types that think club and players are perfect. Talk about mental short people.

Nank is fine as a ruck. He was terrific before he got a 3-week suspension.

Amongst ruckman:

Disposals: 4th in AFL
Tackles: #1
Clearances : #8

We want more marks and goals, but he’s hard at the contest, tackles very well, gets plenty of the ball and is good for clearances.

I’d happily replace him as captain, but he’s the least of our worries in regards to our list, and it would be stupid to look to trade him, because all we’d be doing is looking for an inferior version to replace him.

All these people desperately craving a KPF … yes we need some sizeable forwards, but let’s not panic about needing Riewoldt quality.

Pies are top-4 with Mihocek, McStay and Cox.

Demons are top-4 with McDonald injured and then Brown, JVR and Melksham.

Port are top-4 with Finlayson and Marshall … Finlayson has 39 and Marshall has 1 more goal than Jack. (Dixon has been hobbled most of year).

Swans are in top-8 with McLean, Amartey and McDonald their leading KPF with 28 goals.

So there’s no reason to desperately seek a high priced KPF star. Eagles have one in Allen and they are diabolical. North have one in Larkey and they are on a 19-game losing streak. GC have one in Ben King and they sacked their coach.

It’s just one piece of the puzzle, and compared to midfield and defence it’s the least important part to be a successful team.

So yes we need to bring in some capable KPF’s with some size about them…. but crash and bash and not get outmarked is all we need.
