That was an almighty rip off. Lost an all Australian calibre player for pick 30. Meanwhile crows are going to get 19 for a middling third tall coming off of a knee reco.
Also where are Brisbane finding all this cash to spend on players.

Talk of the Giants rookie-ing Fantasia is interesting. They would be the pick after us in a rookie draft. If they want him, they'd need to be trading with us or we would need to decide not to re-rookie.

I wouldn't be against them getting rid of the compensation for free agents all together. You win some you lose some.
Karl Amon was an AA nominee in 2021 and got 15 brownlow votes in 2022 so he'd come off 2 very good years so the pick 30 always seemed like we were short changed.
But does the formula go primarily on the size of the contract in length and in $$? Obviously Doedee is getting paid silly money at Brisbane , whereas Karl didn't leave for money so his contract wasn't ridiculous.
What is worse is North getting a compo pick straight after their first pick for Ben Mckay. Ben McKay is nothing special and he is going to get north pick 3? It's an absolute joke this system.
