Hey Diehard,
Respectfully, I believe that these issues have always been around. Bill Morris, Jeff Fehring etc.
Tragic.
Yep, I’m sure you are right.
(Those names were before my time as an Aus.)
I don’t know, it’s just seems to be a bigger thing these days …maybe because people are more open about it.

Non-profits literally exist on handouts, and if the Saints promised to cover admin costs, reaped the good publicity and then changed the rules, they deserve the bad publicity.
Factually incorrect that Non Profits rely on handouts.
For tax purposes Membership organisations such as sporting clubs or professional bodies derive revenue from a number of sources, mainly membership.
The member derives a benefit ( perceived) for the annual subscription. Other revenue may derive from sponsorship where the sponsor derives benefit from association of the brand.
Other revenue can come from PD course or professional courses.
Don't know what you are talking about. Neither DFC or STKFC are charities and both expect to derive revenue.
The 'non profit' misnomer comes from the perception that any 'profit' is put back into the organisation for member benefit. In reality a profit can be derived without tax penalties depending on tax rulings and the organisation's tax designation.

Standard practice for them really - in the race for an "exclusive" they sensationalise and pander to the bottom of the barrel.
It's not about the exclusivity of any story... it's all about if it can incite people.

Surely everyone knows by now that Murdoch media is an empire built on lies & manipulation. I'd say the sooner that old campaigner kicks it the better but he's got a mini me ready to take over the evil empire.

He's 92 , i'd suggest that mini-me is running the bulk of it now, and that the old many wouldn't be doing much more than what he'll be doing when he's kicked it.

I very much doubt that he had any influence on this particular story.

Unfortunately the incidences of mental health issues in footy appear to have increased a lot since those years.
Stuv, Timmy, Liam Stocker - just to mention a few at our club alone, never mind others such as Tom Boyd.

Sign of the times unfortunately, but we need to look after the players that need it.
I don't think so players are just more open to talking about it

Mental health of a player is one thing.

Then there are retired players, who go from being in the spotlight earning megabucks, to perhaps working a very ordinary job on an ordinary income. That can also cause problems.

Not saying the old see you next Tuesday had any influence on that brain fart of a story.

His standards (lack of) & expectations (gutter crawlers) have been set & followed blindly over many years.
