Why do you prefer Hopkins to Beening?
100% still my pick too. Enormous tank and fast, still 18, can play further up the ground on the wing, 190cm as opposed to 184cm. Has a lot of growing into his body to do, higher ceiling and has been super consistent with a minimum possession count of 25 this year. Could do a lot worse than have him under our noses for 6 months in an AFL system.

"West Coast interest in Milan Murdock is believed to have petered out .
The Eagles do have an eye on dead-eye West Perth forward Jasper Scaife , who has also been spoken to by Richmond , and South Australian running half-back Luke Beecken ."

So if Jasper goes to Richmond then Luke Beecken is a chance .

Issue is unlike Maric I dont see him being able to play AFL this year and our list is in such a shambles depth wise we probably need someone who can just play AFL in 2 weeks time :(

It's odd we're looking at another tall forward. On top of everyone else, we had Williams marked as a tall forward first and 2nd ruck.

Pretty sure I remember reading an article a few months ago that Sydney we impressed with Williams and his competitiveness.

If we pick Scaife, one can't help wonder if it's part of a greater plan.

He absolutely can’t play AFL this year, but we have plenty of HBFs to cover the rest of this year. What we don’t have are any running and distributing HBFs developing aside from Burgiel. Beecken could play this year, but he’s not the best medium or long term prospect.

I’m not worried about plugging holes this year, I’m looking at what our squad looks like in 2026 and maximising the chances of competing for finals.

Its a sign of the times when the comment on a KPD is:

“Jacob is 196cm and although you’d like a couple more centimetres on him, I think he gets a go."

Unless of course we are talking about something else that's holding him back in the locker room.
Obsession with height is weird. How tall are Weitering, May, Lever, Aliir, Ridley, McCartin, Taylor, Buckley, Ballard etc???

Does Ruscoe play AFL though with Oscar due back in 2 weeks ?
