He's exceptional with ABC but gets a bit shaky on DEF

the abc frustrates me for this so hard. they show video footage of a guy king hitting someone then say 'it appears as though the man has been king hit'. call a spade a spade ffsI hate how they can list the evidence based benefits of not travelling on your body, but then still end the article on “perceived advantage” for neutrality sake.
They can't due to legal issues.the abc frustrates me for this so hard. they show video footage of a guy king hitting someone then say 'it appears as though the man has been king hit'. call a spade a spade ffs
But reknowned scientist Nathan Burke reckons...
By raising it he is implicitly recognising travel is bad. But his (twisted) point is because we travel more it affects us less."So what you lose by travelling over here (Melbourne), you actually gain a bit back by playing a travelling team every single week.
"No one ever mentions that."
No one ever mentions it except every 2nd post on Vic bias thread on the main board (and every Victorian ever)
Of course forgetting that the WA teams have to travel back from the east so are essentially doing the same trip as the teams coming over.

So by his logic, suffering more of something bad gives you experience to cope better - compared with someone suffering less.
I think all but a masochist would take the less suffering option every time.
Pity I'd respected him (and Clint Wheeldon). Oh well two more for the vAFL tossers basket.
Well aware Wheeldon is from WA. So what’s this rubbish?I'm pretty sure Wheeldon is on the WA teams side (and is a West Aussie)
That seems like a clear, sarcastic joke to me, where he's parroting the usual BS the Vics say.Well aware Wheeldon is from WA. So what’s this rubbish?
“Never forget though, the WA teams should be thankful for their travel experience and business class seats - oh, and if they don’t like it, they should just play in a state based comp.”
Now he could claim it’s in jest. I’d say it’d be far more helpful to use his profile to actually outline the issues rather than make a ’joke’ that sounds exactly like something we hear all too often from the vAFL mob.
Also he doesn't get that it is not about home ground advantage on a particular week, but about the long (and short) term affect on the body and performance as a result constant trans-Australia travel."So what you lose by travelling over here (Melbourne), you actually gain a bit back by playing a travelling team every single week.

And to Victorians it will sound like a West Aussie confirming their views. That seems like a clear, sarcastic joke to me, where he's parroting the usual BS the Vics say.
St Kilda in 2024
R4 - Richmond in Adelaide
R5 - GWS in Canberra
R7 - Port in Adelaide
R9 - Hawthorn in Launceston
R12 - West Coast in Perth
R14 - Brisbane in Brisbane
Six trips interstate in 14 rounds is a fairly heavy travel load. Well for a Victorian team at least as its standard for a non-Victorian team
What’s the upside of that draw?
Well they travel to Adelaide in R18 to play the crows but aside from that, not only do they not leave Victoria, they don’t leave Marvel
Eight of their last nine games are at Marvel
I wonder if Nathan Burke would choose that or travelling every second week
8 of 9 at the one ground is crazy.
The routine players would get into would be great for them. Can't imagine them having many Friday nights either so the breaks would all be pretty fine too.
All of them are either Saturday or Sunday games
Two 6 day breaks when going from a Sunday game to a Saturday game the next week
Four of the eight games are against a non-vic side so they get a proper home ground advantage
That is brilliant
Mick underlines it from the 24 minute mark.
Add to that, four of those six trips are only a 90 minute flight or less. And only the Perth trip has a noticeable timezone difference.St Kilda in 2024

Clint Wheeldon is one of the good guys. Very much on the WA side of the travelling viewpoint
