Seb ross, josh schcae have both been delisted, so if our coaching and development teams are up to standard, here are two experienced but washed up players.

If we are to attract big names, perhaps we need to develop a reputation of turning discards into solid players.

We want a key forward right, there is one already there. We want some experience in the middle right, ross is a mid.
Not sure if you are a troll or a fool
You do such a good impersonation of both options

Will Phillips, Toby Pink and Robert Hansen jnr have each signed on at North Melbourne until at least the end of 2025.

Phillips and Hansen jnr have agreed to new one-year deals, while Pink triggered an extension for next season after playing 15 senior games in 2024.

Phillips has played 43 games since joining the club as its top pick in the 2020 AFL Draft.

Part of the Roos’ competitive midfield selection mix, the 22-year-old featured 11 times at AFL level in 2024, taking on a shutdown role on some of the competition’s best midfielders.

Pink arrived at Arden Street as a delisted free agent last October following a dominant season for Glenelg in the SANFL. He made his long-awaited debut in Round 1 this season, seven years after originally being recruited by Sydney.

After starting in defence, the 26-year-old moved forward in the second half of the season and finished with seven goals.

Hansen jnr was taken by the Roos in the 2023 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft and made his debut two months later in Round 20 in his home state of Western Australia.

The 20-year-old small forward kicked 15 goals from 14 VFL appearances in 2024, before breaking into the club’s senior line-up for the final six games of the season.

North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said the club looked forward to seeing what Phillips, Pink and Hansen jnr could achieve next season.

“Will has done some really big jobs for us this year with his typically selfless attitude,” Rawlings said.

“He took some steps forward after overcoming his health battles from 2022, and this season should be a good springboard for his long-term football development.

“Toby worked hard to earn a second chance in the AFL, and Robbie has also impressed with his willingness to improve. He showed he can offer some spark to our forward line with his speed.

“We know all three players will be eager to make the most of their opportunities next season and we look forward to seeing where they can take their game.”

With Greenwood and TT gone, there aren't that many left to take from the main list.

Taylor, Laz, and Harvey are the only three left uncontracted I think?

(Drury, Free, Sellers, Shiels and Maley are all rookies IIRC)

Possibly a list demotion or two in the works?
Decent chance with one or more of Sleevo, CCJ and Biggie I reckon.
Reckon Finnbar will be the only one out of that group to get a contract, everyone else is gone.

With Shiels, Greenwood & Thomas already gone and presumably Taylor, Lazzaro, Harvey, Drury, Free & Sellers to go. That's 9 gone which seems about right. Perhaps Drury gets offered a rookie contract?

I suspect Finnbar will get 1 year contract, still a way off AFL level but has improved measurably over the course of the year.

Hope to see further development from Bobby. Yet another career stall/regression wouldn't be ideal at the moment, especially in a position where we're so bare. There's something there, but I get the sense it'll need nurturing to fully emerge

Drury seems too entrenched in the Clarko/Wardlaw/Sheez love affair to be dumped IMO, will get another year. And then I agree with the fine My Left Foote above that Maley is the most likely to get a contract.

I would prefer Harvey to get another season on the rookie list over Drury. Harvey seemed to regress a little this year but there is something about him (besides the family ties) that I like.

Happy with that news.

Phillips is a smart, skillful and determinrd player who has more to show if his fitness continues to build. Get the idea he'd be in the young captain discussions if his health hadn't curtailed him to date.

Pink is a tricky one, sometimes shows signs of having a 50+ game AFL player in him. Other times looks a little off the pace. But good size, good attitude and experience in an elite system in Cola.

Very happy with RHJ. Lots of encouraging signs in his run of senior games and the only player on the list with the innate agility and pace to approximate a small forward or maybe even creative winger.

If Coops is given another year on the rookie list, he needs a massive kick up the backside. The penny hasn't dropped with him yet by the sounds of it and is quickly heading down the path of a wasted talent/ what could have been type player.
