It’s the extreme reactions to the mere suggestion we move the bloke on after a VFL/AFL record tenure of futility that get me.

In a similar vein to the pathetic “how would you like to be a St Kilda fan?!” retorts, I often get:

“So you’d rather be a club that changes its coach every 2 years” or “what are you going to do if the new coach doesn’t win a flag next year huh?!”

It’s the most disingenuous, sh¡tfilled situation ever.
Disingenuous is the perfect word, they seem to act like there’s no possible middle ground between where we’re at and where Carlton were when they were switching coaches every 2-3 years. I think 7 should be the max, maybe an 8th if a club is still in the mix of flag contenders. The fact that that’s was so many years ago makes me truly confused m, unless these fans are being deliberately disingenuous. Maybe they aren’t, maybe they’ve been misled by those in charge now, but there’s definitely an air of deception with how the club is reacting to suggestions Ken’s time is up.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yoooo someone should really ring up and just start booing when their call gets through to the air. Would be ****ing hilarious

"You guys might as well be the first to know - I will be retiring as coach of Port Adelaide, effective immediately."

Hey - a bloke can dream.......

In reality, it’ll be:

“I’ll do what I’ve always done. Come back reinvigorated and ready to leave no stone unturned in pursuit of a premiership. And I want to emphasise that point. I’ve never been more eager to achieve the ultimate for this football club.”

As if effort, desire and vigour is the question mark over him after a dozen years, and not his acumen and ability.

There are different options.

1. The club tell Ken he's no longer required = pay out.

2. Ken tells club he's had enough = no pay out.

3. Ken has found other employment and keeping quiet about it hoping club sacks him = pay out.

4. Club doesn't want to sack him.

5. A plan for Carr to take over in 2026 is announced.

For Ken to leave it has to be the club that starts that conversation while letting him know thanks for your service.

All in all if ken stays, it's going to be hell for him, the draw wont be so accommodating next year and there a lot of clubs on the rise.
Number 5 is the most likley i remember there was a story mid year by fox sports saying a handshake agreement has been made for a handover end of next year but club denied it.
The timimg of the official announcement of handover will be the interesting part.
If we are sitting just outside the 8 after about 8 rounds expect the annoucement then to eliviate pressure
otherwise if we are going good all year and sitting in the top 4 will be seasons end
But if it is a disaster 2025 and mid season we are out of the race for top 8 Josh probably takes over then

"But we won't be changing anything about the game plan - we just need a bit of luck."

I mean, we are St Kilda fans based off premierships, they just get sold hope a lot more often than we do:

*VFL previously was 18 game season

Would love to have gone into RD 1 next season excited at the thought of a new forward line set-up, with a player coming home about to enter what should be his prime, playing with JHF, Zak and Connor who'd be hungry to atone for their finals failures under a hungry new coach with Dewy as his right hand man. Further development into the likes of Mitch, Miles, Jase, Logan and the rest of our squad. But nah

*s me off.. At some stage Timmy... Ya need to grow a pair and man the * up.

Pathetic.
Not sure what we're expecting Timmy to do? He's already said on multiple occasions that he would not have extended Hinkley and gone with Carr.

He's employed by 5aa. The last time they (he and Rowe) pushed back on the club, the club sooked it up and put a ban on from anyone going on there.
