    PKF Tasmanian Tigers 2009-10 thread

Why would your key fast bowler bowl in the second innings of a tour game that means nothing, when the game is clearly going to be a draw.

Guys that have been unlucky not to play more for Australia?

Re: Guys that have been unlucky to play for Australia? Can't argue with that list. Maybe add Divenuto. I am sure that there are heaps of players out there that could consider themselves unlucky to have not played more for Australia. Life goes on. It’s just one of the consequences of living...

Correct. Played at uni oval. A pretty solid crowd as well.

    Brad Hodge quits first-class cricket

I don't think that he is playing on in the 4 day version as his Mrs has health problems. Not sure what they are exactly. My guess is that he is playing on in the shorter versions as how else will he make good $$. There are only so many commentary spots. Apparently he is a knob, but you have...

Japes you are spot on. In that game Bailey scored the 100 off 13 overs. One B Hilfenhous played for uni. And bowled to G bailey.

Ford Ranger Cup Game 13: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Sun)

Over rated batsman. A handy bowler though. But considering that we already have Doherty and Kreja, we don't need another spinner. I would like to see them pick Anderson or someone who is a proven run scorer.

Sheffield Shield Game 9: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Tue-Fri)

Over 10.2: George to Wells, no run, OUT, plays forward but cann't keep it down and is caught at cover by Christian. Wells out for 6, Cowan not out 7, TAS 1/14, George 1 for 8, new batsman is Doolan Wells might find himself dropped for the next game

Sheffield Shield Game 9: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Tue-Fri)

Duval is a great lower order batsman. Great effort in the chase by SA. Forecast for rain tomorrow, so it looks like 2 points will be all that is achieved out of the game. Wells would want to make some runs, or he might find himself out of the next team.

Sheffield Shield Game 9: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Tue-Fri)

Duval is going large for SA. 3 sixes and counting. It doesn't appear to be over just yet.

The defining shame of the West End Jellybacks

3 hundreds before his double ton makes him a dud. Stop having a laugh. He has 3 first class hundreds before the double ton. If you are good enough to make 3 tons in the strongest shield comp in the world, you are not a dud player. So Tasmania actively recruited a dud??? What a joke...

The defining shame of the West End Jellybacks

Spot on. While some first class cricketers are better than others. The Australian Domestic competition is the strongest in the world. To call a bloke who has scored shield hundreds before (against other states) "shit" is just plain stupid.

Sheffield Shield Game 9: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Tue-Fri)

2009-11-25 15:10:55 Over 41.1: Krejza to Cosgrove, no run, forward defence as Cosgrove gives some thought to the scones and jam at the Tea break Excellent

Sheffield Shield Game 9: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Tue-Fri)

Doolan has scored a half century in the last two shield games before this game. Bit rough on him i think. Agreed though. You can't have two batsman score 81% of the runs. I want to see Jones bat up the order. Give the kid a chance to build an innings.

The defining shame of the West End Jellybacks

As i write this, the west end red backs are second on the shield ladder. Geez they must be rubbish!!!

Sheffield Shield Game 9: Tasmania v South Australia @ Hobart (Tue-Fri)

Great fight back by cowan and Marsh. Wells might be in trouble next shield game unless he can manage some second innings runs this game. I wonder who they will bring in. J Rogers Lockyer Anderson

He is just about the form batsman of the country at the moment. His one day form, and shield form this season has been excellent. Lets hope it continues.

Sheffield Shield Game 7: New South Wales v Tasmania @ Sydney (Tue-Fri)

2 points is better than nothing. If Tas get 2 points in most of our games plus a couple of 6 point games, Tassie will be fine. Lets just be happy that Tas finally showed some fight, and got some points.

Sheffield Shield Game 7: New South Wales v Tasmania @ Sydney (Tue-Fri)

Add Dane Anderson to the mix as well. If he makes runs in the second 11 game this week, and the top 3 fail again. He might just get the chance.

Sheffield Shield Game 7: New South Wales v Tasmania @ Sydney (Tue-Fri)

It will be interesting to see if Tassie can actually show some fight and go ok. Surely NSW will win this one comfortably. My pick is Drew for 12th man.

Futures League Round 3: TAS vs QLD at Lindisfarne (Tue-Thurs)

It isn't small at all. It has the second best wicket in Tassie behind Bellerive.

Doolan top scored in the last match. It won't be Doolan

    George Bailey

Ease up. He scored a 100 in the last two sheild games last year. Top scored in the first shield game of the year with 90 odd. 80 odd the other night. He has been the best batsman for the tigers over the past year. Yes he hasn't scored a one day domestic hundred, but he did bat at 6-7...
