Should do a lot better than last year!
I'm a Gippsland supporter so maybe biased but look out for Hansen for huge carnival if he stays healthy.
And Youle should go great. Played last year for Power and really starred as back pocket, moved into midfield this year - really mature and a...
Hey mate.
Have a look at this:

I notice you have already commented on Macaffer previously so you can't not know who he is ;) Might know more about him than the people you are asking...
Have not seen much of Gippsland this...
All clubs don't get equal home games.
Mainly due to travel consideration for Country clubs.
Heaps of Country players have to travel further to home games (+ training) than Metro do to away games.
+ got to rotate the interstate trips between clubs
+ schedule double/triple header in lead...
Congrats to the three Gippsland players drafted in the top 5!! Great effort.
I think they are all worthy of their places.
Not at all surprised with Collingwood taking Thomas and then Pendlebury. Both, if realise their potential will be very good players.
As unfortunate as it would be for the kids who were injured to miss out I think it should remain strictly u18.
Hard enough to get a game (or even on a list) as it is with u17, u18, and even u16 players vying for spots.
Agree with Vinnie that Thomas has midfield ability already.
Don't be fooled by his great Grand Final forward role, Thomas has played in midfield this year and excelled. Has played at most half a game on the ball but EVERYTIME he went into the middle he was a class above - his ability to get...
Good read as always mate.
Interesting on the handspan for Pendlebury. Along with his bball background, definitely explains the unique ball handling skills he often displays. Really uses this to his advantage in gathering the ball and evading opponents - Able to easily grab one hand off...
I think the following could be chances at rookie listing/late draft.
And yes I know I pretty much only post about Gippsland players but I have seen a lot of them.
Fraser and Dunne the most likely to be drafted.
Chris Dunne - Outside midfielder/wing. Not overly quick but got a mid 14s...
Ricky is too young to Rookie List this year.
Probably go around in the TAC again next year and keep racking up the stats!
If he has a growth spurt might be a chance of rookie/draft as has all the skills - high possession winner, great mark, good shot on goal (seen him kick a couple from...
Seemed to get smashed more towards the end of the season.
Was doing the run with the flight fearless marking attempts against anyone all through the season.
The second half of the season saw him get more attention from rival run-with players and cop some heavy hits as first in to the ball and...
Tipping Ricky Delphine to win easily (if it hasn't already been announced?)
Played every game unlike the Country players, had an impact in every game he played even when he took really heavy knocks late in the season.
Should be an even spread of runners-up after Ricky.
O'Bryan as...
I don't think he was bagging country players nor Ellis in particular.
Listed a few reasons why Ellis may not perform to his optimum. All valid points.
Of course it comes down to the individual but there are general factors like those that Weaver mentioned.
I went to most Gippsland games this year and reported on a few here at bigfooty so if you do a search for him you may find some info.
An official from Gippsland I met this year passed on some screening results and said he got the high 14 beep and overall performed really well.
I am...
Good reading everyone. Lots of interest in the game which is great.
Been to both matches between the two teams this year and both were very entertaining. Both times Gippsland got out to a good lead (50 points in 2nd Qtr in round 6, about 4 goals in the 3rd Qtr in round 17) and Dandenong...
Did you guys happen to notice who was the designated kick-in taker for Gippsland?
And that Calder scored 21 behinds?
Oldest trick in the book folks...
Just imagine if Ricky Delphine took the kick-ins.
Would have got 55+ disposals!
Good win from Gippsland.
West, Delphine and Hansen lead from the front and Ellis had countless clearances from the defensive 50.
The forwards all stood up at different times with Neagle marking strongly and finishing well - good to see has got his form back. And Thomas flying for the...
Agree with the above.
Also impressed with Meese in the ruck and floating around. Pretty mobile and gets into position well in defence - good mark.
Murray's defenders were their better players in my opinon. So much pressure causing Northern to be inaccurate at goal.
Drum and Looby in...
How well did he do to keep his cool? Guess he is used to the attention Ryan was giving him by now. Very impressed with his game.
Nicholls and Bentley played good too, they just lacked someone to at least give a contest against Hansen in the forward line.
Good report Jimmyjess.
Delphine, Vernon and Hansen really were standouts I thought.
Delphine - 169cm and 70kg for those asking. 40+ touches - Probably would have got close to 50 if given all the frees he should have - always first to the ball but not always looked after by the umps...
Thomas best Sezzac? Only had 13 possies and 1 goal...
Actually I agree with you - he was a very big reason why they won. Played mainly HFF and FP but had a few stints on the ball. He actually reminded my of Cooney in that last quarter against Brisbane - went in and just kept winning the...
McGuane smoky for Coaches award?! Have to be one of the favourites.
Seems the type of player to get votes from coaches if not from umpires. Never say die attitude always giving 100% and pretty consistent througout the season. And has played every game.
Having seen heaps of Gippsland...
