Apologies for not posting much, but, as a Hawk living in Adelaide it doesn't get much bigger than this. Being told to f off back to Melbourne when you live in Goodwood. I love it. I love seeing the boys in the flesh. And I love it when we win.
Sounds familiar....but I'm much younger only 44. Saw the 71 team play here in Adelaide. Moved to Melbourne in 76 and loved the Hawks ever since, even when I came back to Adelaide mid 80's. Saw us win in 86 and lose in 87.
Barracking for the Crows was NEVER an option
Hi Guys
Just wondering if anything has been arranged regarding some celebratory drinks either before or after we flog the Crows this Sat night.
I hear that AAMI is sold out for the first time this year too......everyone's getting on board the Mighty Hawks juggernaut !!
Re: The dying moments of he prelim of 87 Melbourne VS Hawthorn
I was there too with my old man. He was a good bloke. He kept apologising to the Melbourne fans on the way out.
Re: Watched the 89 Grandfinal lastnight for the 1st time since the event itself.
Anderson and Pritchard just running and running late in the last quater when we had nothing left.
Dermie of course ... hero.
Telling anyone who cared to listen later that night that Ablett just may go down in...
Not really interested in the game to be honest. It would have been great if it was SA / Vic as there would still be a huge amount of passion. But I'm not interested in the dream team or whatever it's called at all.
And I'm just dreading the thought of a Hawk going down with an injury...
Hawthorn's rise IS Geelong's worst nightmare. The Cats so called dynasty is going to be abruptly denied by a club that they just CANNOT beat.
And let's not just think that an injury to Franklin means we are gone. Clarko has other soldiers at his disposal, a well drilled team and a plan...
OK. How about if I said North should take over Melbourne. Would that change you perspective ?
I actually admire North's desire to hang in the comp. I get the impression that Melbourne is just waiting for either a white knight, or for someone to put them out of their misery.
One premiership and one Norm Smith would, in Hawthorn terms, be just a good servent of the club.
As I said. He's got a long way to go. (But I do love the way he's started)
I didn't think I was quite as obsessed as you psychos (even though i love you for your obsessions) until I realised that I mentally refer to our house as Grant Birchill (ie number 14) xxxx street. Opposite us is Luke Hodge.
Of course I couldn't share this with anyone till now.
Just...
Re: July 25 at the G!
Jeez. I just booked tickets for Tassie the week afterwards. Going for golf and then the 16 of us are going to the Bris game.
Maybe we should just extend the trip by a week and start with this "Game of the Century"
