I thought Rohan does his best ground work with the physio. I'm not sure how many quick goals he scored in that match but surely that alone qualifies for another season at our club.
Out of contract:
Tom Hawkins, Sam Menegola, Rhys Stanley, Jonathon Ceglar, Mitch Hardie, Flynn Kroger, Oscar Murdoch, Esava Ratugolea, Osca Riccardi, Gary Rohan, Sam Simpson, Zach Tuohy, Cooper Whyte
Retired - Isaac Smith
Disappointing season especially after last year. Of course injuries didn't help plus our ageing playing list but I think our backline was the problem. Most seasons we play well is due to our solid defence.
I think that needs a big shake up.
Anyways will be interesting to see if the rumours of...
I think Pies will take a 3rd round pick for Henry. He's not a priority player for them and Pies have lots of players that they are looking to bring in.
What are the latest rumours on JDG?
Is he staying at the Pies or going to the Saints? I think last I read Pies placed a 800k per year deal for 4 year to the sum of $3.2m.
Also are we still in the hunt for him?
This is the source I found:
OFF CONTRACT 2022
Luke Dahlhaus (unrestricted free agent), Francis Evans, Zach Guthrie, Tom Hawkins, Shaun Higgins (unrestricted free agent), Quinton Narkle, Gary Rohan, Joel Selwood (unrestricted free agent), Sam Simpson, Isaac Smith (unrestricted free agent), Nick...
They might be steak knives at the Cattery as they aren't regular starters however at other clubs they would slot right in. He's probably in our top 30 playing list at present as well.
Narkle would be a good replacement for Hill or Bruhn loss.
Would be interesting, I guess it would need to come from GWS if they request him as part of the trade.
I'd be surprised if they did. Most of the players they lost are mid/forwards with pace not big body mids. Not sure what he would add to GWS. I still think a player like Esava or Narkle would...
Agree but it's a 2 way thing. Some players will be yes while others say no. Afterall players want opportunities to play not be 2nd string. Also I guess coaching staff would already have an idea of players looking to stay or go before trade period. Look at Jordan Clark
They are losing Taranto, Hooper, Hill and Bruhn. I would assume they would want players that can slot right in.
GWS have expressed interest in Esava previously. Could potentially also see a Narkle in the mix there.
I think both will be very tough to land but some clubs have very big war chest of funds.
My thoughts on club order they'll pick.
JDG - Saints, Dons, Pies and Cats
Grundy - Dees or Saints. Don't even think we are in the mix.
I agree on JDG clearly BOG.
Not sold on Grundy due to his high price tag also when Cox and Cameron seem to step in and do the job, it raises lots of questions.
What do you expect, it's what they do best around this time. And yes, there's plenty more names Worpel, Meek, Tom De Koning, etc. along with any Geelong Falcons player at another club. Maybe Parish needs to be added to the list.
As for Taranto media rumours are Tigers have him locked in and...
I think there's better value elsewhere. I don't think he's worth chasing or paying overs. Also not worth the risk post the injury return. I say GWS can keep him.
