In principal early pick + Early Games on probabilities leads to a lot of career games. But we're stacked in the same place we'd want to fit him in, Oliver Henry too. They'd have to push past players whose attributes fit their roles well.
I don’t get that as outside of the very traditional roles the game and players positions are very fluid. Rolling up and back etc.

If he plays as a midfielder that group we have very few players with speed and silky ball use.

I also see a role for Henry. The reason Rohan is so important other than speed is that he competes in the air. Tommy can’t jump at all and when outnumbered struggles to bring it to ground. Cameron too just isn’t that player. Henry and Rohan would be vying for the that hybrid role. Who is else on the current list fits that category? Maybe Dempsey but I reckon he is going to see a lot of midfield time in the VFL next season from all the games I saw.

I was explaining to Foxdog the other night I think we’re no chance in getting Brisbanes pick
Having looked at what clubs have a points value I suspect GC to be the ones doing a trade with Brisbane

Brisbane currently have 15

15 is worth 1112 points

Can see them swapping that with GC for 32,33, 43

Which is 1525 points

GC would then enter the draft with 7,15,25

Yes I think I posted something about similar back in july... we mighty be able to do something fro the crows or Bombers R2 pick...if they need points but Gold Coast's 5th pick is better than our 3rd

Bruhn is a straight swap for our r1 pick it will be in the 20s anyway so fair trade. Maybe we get a future 3rd or 4th back (not a current r3/4 as we dont have the list spots for any more picks this year). I think hes a good get.

Will be interesting to see what happens with henry now.

It is a difference in investment, Close 2020 didn't cost us much. Between the money and the pick I'd be looking for an instant impact.

I don't see him dislodging anyone in the forward line or midfield

We will rotate players next year like we did this year with resting to give him games. We will have lots of retirements end 23 so by 2024 he will be a starting midfielder for us.

Cooper Stephens hates this news.

He does but you dont pass up talent and with almost all our starting mids being 30 or over we need to bring in multiple mids so theres room for both of them anyway.

I knows there has been some consternation over him and his form...but if he is traded for our R1 this year.. I think it a big chance to be a better outcome than Hopper, if we can do something else with the other R1 pick..or keep it.

At the very least... P20 plus this year. versus Bruhn with 2 years in system ready to play. win for mine

He’s 20. He doesn’t have to be best 22 round 1 next year.

With our demographics, I'm thinking year on year.

I'm not the biggest fan of Caddy style trades. To give up the chance of top end for stability. When we're looking to fit only a couple of spots in the 22 I'd rather gamble we already have stability.

Not sure how we get Henry, especially if we use this years R1 to land Bruhn.

There are probably a group of young players that are all striving to be next selected. He will jump most of them, if not all of them but its really about the facilitation of transition over the next two years.

The way they have blended in Zac Guthrie seems to be now have been impeccable.

we use our 2023 first rd pick
But is young Henry, who is not a KPP or mid worth a first round pick?
I don't think so at the moment.

Yes which was my original point about being able to earn a tidy return trading with teams who believe next years draft will be better. Arguably there Richmond also bet “next year’s Geelong will be worse”.

sad trombone sound
I love it when sad trombone chimes in for Richmond

If we can find a way to get bruhn and Henry in this trade period we will have made out like bandits.

This is not how equalisation is supposed to work. Quality young players should be leaving good clubs to get opportunities at poor clubs, not the other way around.

It was mentioned on Crunch Time on SEN last Saturday that Hopper & Grundy turned down Geelong because we wouldn't pay overs for them (in terms of what we would pay them in contracts). Other clubs throwing around bigger money. Good for them, let them stuff their salary cap. Geelong doing the right thing there.

I'm glad Bruhn has nominated the Catters. I think he'll go well at our club. Holding my powder on Ollie Henry, a lot of water to go under the bridge there.

I think Pies will take a 3rd round pick for Henry. He's not a priority player for them and Pies have lots of players that they are looking to bring in.

Second rounder at the bare minimum. Kid was a pick 17 less than 2 years ago and has shown immense talent (admittedly in bursts)

If he was on our list we'd be spewing if we lost him for a third. It'll be a Jordan Clark esque trade I reckon.

Yeah but good successful clubs always attract interest from players at crap clubs wanting some success.
