Not sure about this. Generally speaking the best players play in Europe but not necessarily the best football. I've taken more to watching the Brazilian league because their games are just so much easier to watch than what you expect in most European leagues
I maintain that if this were any other country in the world there would be riots in the streets over some of the stuff that goes on here. From the cost of living to our inadequate public transport system to our piss-poor excuse for political leaders. Nobody else in the world would put up with it...
I laughed at this. Milne was a bee's d*ck from being convicted of rape but Barrett and Wilson are still worse human beings. Haha. :D
If what everyone has said so far is true (and I assume it is) then the full blame of this falls on Liam Pickering for not talking to the club about the...
Honestly the only reason I got into sport in the first place was because I wrote to a stack of different pro clubs and associations bragging about my qualifications (sport mgmt. degree) and if there was any paid or unpaid work, and even then I only got a volunteer role to start with. So maybe...
Well Luke can become one of any of the Jedis from the prequel movies. It would be insanity to think they would cast him as anything other than the guy who reformed and rebuilt the Jedi Council/Order.
Han and Leia? Don't know. There's talk they won't be going in the Jacen/Anakin/Jaina (if you...
My cousin had to do a school assignment on this a year or two ago. He dug up some great stuff.
Apparently my ancestors on my dad's side were of German descent (I thought they were British convicts) who moved out here after WWI and changed their surnames from a German spelling to a more Anglo...
I actually like that idea. I didn't see Cypress Hill on Friday due to clashes but wanted to. And One Day As A Lion was freaking awesome in 2011.
Quick rundown of my Friday:
- Versus The World weren't great. Probably because it was 11:30am.
- Missed Anthrax lining up for a shirt. No big deal...
We had a teacher who brought her recently-removed gall stones into class one day. That was one of my fondest memories of middle school.
I remember we had this absolute dropkick for year 9 art. Me and two mates spent an entire semester building this tape ball in this class. It was bloody...
A bit shattered. More disillusioned with what this league has now become. The whole league is just hell-bent on spending a whole bunch of money to get somewhere. And it was fun when it was United and Liverpool and Arsenal because they actually built their finances up themselves through their...
They've got to be bloody careful here though. They could easily send all of their biggest state league clubs bust with this. It costs a sh*tload of money to lug 20 players plus staff around the country every second week. The A-League clubs struggle financially enough as it is and they have the...
Crouch's goal can **** right off after seeing Cisse's goal. That second goal is arguably the best goal in the last five years of the EPL.
I hope he pulls out something like that on the weekend against City. Even just to take something away from that game would be great service for us.
It's all about demand. The more demand the bookies get on teams, the lower they make the odds to drive off as much chance of paying out a heap of money as possible.
Currently 22. Alway been asked for ID. Always. I've been told as young as 16. Love giving the bouncers a little bit of cheek when they can't do anything about the fact I have a real ID and look like I'm not even in senior high school.
Jury's still out for me. I know he's just won back-to-back titles with the Roar but he has got a lot of issues to sort out before the season starts. Our team isn't up to scratch, we have a somewhat selfish culture and he's got to figure out a way to get Muscat to sit the **** down and shut the...
He might be a bit of a prick but he's a damn good businessman. He's taking the sport places we can only dream of.
On Buckley being in the top 12, I think it should be rephrased to giving Malthouse the boot. The guy had coached us for 12 years, made four grand finals and missed the finals only...
Every time the Pies play at the MCG I always see the this huge group of empty seats on the Southern Stand side of the Collingwood cheer squad. It happens every week, ANZAC Day included. What is going on down there? We've got 70,000 members and our active support looks like a club with a quarter...
Disagree with the sentimental part of players missing a final on the yellow card. Their ill discipline cost them a spot in the final. I have no time for this argument after Rocca got rubbed out in the 2003 prelim. If you were stupid enough to do that so close to the final your deserve what you get.
As much as I don't like Chelsea, I am very happy that no team will have successfully defended their UCL crown for another year. Well done.
Has to be said, Abramovich would be absolutely out of his mind not to appoint Di Matteo full time now. Before AVB was sacked they were a rubble. Now they're...
On playing footy on ANZAC Day: It brings outstanding awareness to the cause I'll be honest, if they didn't play footy on ANZAC Day I probably wouldn't give two shits about the cause and Australia Day would be the undisputed most patriotic day on the calendar. But because the AFL are involved it...
Seen all the footage, still think it's a dud call from the ref. You can look at all of the bio-mechanics of it and all that shit but I see Berisha mis-hit his shot, fall over with no contact and get rewarded for it.
Shit's gonna hit the fan big time from this one.
I'm of the belief Berisha mis-hit the shot and legit fell over but when he realised there was an opportunity for a penalty he appealed it. Probably one of the worst penalty decisions I've ever seen (and I'm a Man Utd supporter). Perth didn't...
Taking injured players into GFs rarely ends well. The only example I can think of it coming off was Lappin in 2003, and even then that is very circumstantial because 1) he had plenty of mates to help him out and 2) he was playing a rubbish Collingwood side.
