This happened to me during a finals game in 2013...if you’re really nice to the hostesses then they might get the pilot to check scores for you!

I expect Leinert and Trengove to be in the side this week, based on form. I can’t imagine Farrell and/or Frampton in as that would mean 2 debutants (incl Leinert) in a pretty big game. If 3 changes are needed I am guessing Pittard might get a run.

Yep, can’t imagine Lienert being first choice this week. We probably don’t need his height when Freo have limited good quality tall forwards and 90% chance of rain for the game on Sunday. Stick with the reliability of Hombsch and current small defenders.

I really like the idea of Lienert getting a run, but no contested possessions, limited tackles and 10 marks that were all uncontested. Just don’t think he’s done enough hard work to warrant selection yet - his body just may not quite be ready?

Is Hombsch a lock in to replace Jonas?

Regardless of wins and losses so far (especially those frustrating losses that are now in the past) we are a finals contender and strong chance for the top 4. However, the WC and Collingwood games will provide the true test as to how much of an impact we can make in September.

Players who were dropped back to the sanfl came back in great form. We need to see the same from Watts today.

Devastated for Hombsch because he is going to be stuck in this limbo. AJ has been good in the SANFL and will hopefully make the most of his opportunity. I would rather have a fit DBJ than a fit Pittard, so a hamstring concern would not even get a look in with me. McKenzie back in the SANFL...

Yep, definitely agree! We recruited players who could improve our inside 50 efficiency, yet today we were ordinary and allowed them to clear from defence too easily at times.

Should be able to get him in the next few weeks. It would be great to hear about the time he spent with our club!

Yes, Robbie had to protect himself otherwise there would have been a head collision. By all accounts, Simpson has said that McGovern was giving instructions to the rest of the players, from the bench, and seemed pretty sharp.

You’re quite right, at half time it looked like we could have run away with it and wasn’t too bad a start to the third quarter. But then, as expected, a few players were being tried out. West Coast kept their primary midfield in place, which blew us away. They should have won by much more.

Neade really struggled and so did Thomas. I will point out that Ebert stayed off after an early stint in the third quarter, SPP looked like he was slowing down as the game went on, Robbie was on and off, So was Boak. I don’t think Broady has too much to worry about with regards to getting back...
