Review 2009 Draft Revisted: Your Wish Lists

Re: Draft Picks 10, 24, 26 & 33 Lucas is so overrated on here, it's ridiculous. He hits his target less often than Sheppard, Moore or Melksham.

Review 2009 Draft Revisted: Your Wish Lists

Re: Draft Picks 10, 24, 26 & 33 Lucas is another Palmer. Incredible athlete with dodgy field kicking. Moore, Talia, Melksham and Shepphard are natural footballers who use the ball intelligently. I will be disappointed if we pick Lucas.

I'm fairly sure I heard Alan Richardson say they were pretty impressed with John Williams. Just unlucky with injury. Look elsewhere.

So who still wants to delist/trade Stanton?

You dont trade a 22 year old midfielder with that much upside. When he's 24/25 he will be even more valuable to us. You have to be careful about these decisions. They can effect the spirit of the playing group. There's a culture being built up around the club and in this young group. By a young...

Scott Lucas To Hang Up Boots!

One of the best sights in football over the last decade is... Lucas from 55m out on the left. GOAL!!! (Still holds the record for that stupid super goal thing in the NAB Cup) Premiership player, hatfuls of goals and won a b & f at CHB. Respect.

Hooker needs a spell in the vfl.

Had a game high 9 tackles. Tried hard.

Did Winders train? He looked a little proppy to me on Fri.

    Mark McVeigh suspended by club

That's 2 weeks in a row he's let us down. With huge games coming up too. Good decision by Knighta and the leadership group. Knighta has not waivered in his efforts to build a completely professional environment at the EFC. I applaud him for it. As soon as you become soft or inconsistent...

    If Judd had chosen Essendon??

I completely agree. Would've been madness to mortgage our future for such a narrow window of opportunity. Judd may have a couple more years at his peak. But age and recent long term injuries have caught up with Lloyd and Lucas. With no real backups. Whereas a group like Ryder, Prissa, Hurley...

    Toast Heath Hocking

Re: Heath Hocking:The Mooroolbark kid cements his spot There was a moment in the last quarter which I really liked from Buddha. Game was all over. Betts lining up for his 4th. Hocking, on the mark, was screaming at his teammates to stay focussed and man up the loose Carlscum players only 20...

    Where is Monfries at?

His workrate last week against the Dees was pretty damn good. Some terrific gut-busting 60 metre leads. It seems like he's only been quiet in games we've lost this year. So, mostly good. But if our midfield are poor, he gets poor delivery. At 22, he's been a really solid contributor for about...

Cale Hooker - a step towards total football?

Plays with a lot of heart. Skills are pretty reliable. Seems very coachable. Like him. If the opposition have a pretty average 2nd ruck, T-Bell should not replace him. Hooker gives us too much around the ground.

    Changes for Carlton

It's not about hitouts. It's about giving Ryder a chance to rest during games so he doesn't burnout.

    Changes for Carlton

Hooker is our 2nd ruck for at least the next month. Deal with it.

    Changes for Carlton

I thought the opposite. Didn't Hocking have like 16 touches to Bate's 13? Bate kicked his 2nd goal in the last qtr once the game was over. Buddha's insane courage in the big collision with Green was a highlight. Plus Hocking played on a bigger player with good endurance whom Slatts probably...

Re: Essendon chasing Deledio, according to Carlton BF experts Daniher played just as well as a lead up high forward in juniors. He could play McPhee's role(before he moved into defence) down the track, alongside Gumby. Lids has all the tools to become great one day. It's extremely unlikely...

    Essendon draft discussion

Nice youtube video. Like the way he hunts the opposition and then uses good technique to bring'em down. Nice second efforts and kicking action.Like a skinny Mitch Robinson.

Do we have the most promising list in the competition?

That was the first time I've properly watched Prizza play. I liked very much what I saw. He was rusty but showed off his skills a couple of times. What surprised me most was the strength of his tackling. He does not allow a handball away from the tackle. Unlike some others against Adelaide.

Delistings/List leavers at the end of the Season

Be wary of writing off a champion. Lucas will return. It's still early in the season. From a list management POV surely the defenders would come under the most pressure. Nash, NLM and Atkinson We have a heap of promising young defenders coming through. Not as much depth up forward. Lucas...

    David Myers, the defense

I'm quite sure this kid will be a star! He stood up in some of those Hawthorn tackles and couldn't be brought to ground. Has that terrific core strength like Buddha.

    The Team v North

    Not specifically, no.

    The Team v North

Quinn is there because the EFC are about winning premierships. Rather than be concerned about win/loss ratios. Sheedy often said he was successful winning flags because he wasn't afraid to lose. Some you need to grow some balls.

    The team (vs. Port Adelaide)

Dyson tagged Murphy mostly in the 2nd half. He was pretty effective. Who was Nash playing on? I honestly cannot remember.
