So if Berwick Springs and Narre Warren come in to the top 2 divisions is the prediction the bottom 3 of Div 2 will drop down so that the premier of 3rd Division still goes up. Third division will be so much better with 10 teams!
Well it needs 17 for change I have been told so if the MP League decide to open up again they are going to need to be sure they have the backing of the current clubs. At least 3 will need to change to join the 14 you gave said who are open to it. Maybe presidential change would bring that but...
You'd have to think that would be a waste of everyone's time. You would truly want to go into the process with an agreed vision for how they want it to come out in the end. Divisions of 10, 8, 8 (4 additional clubs) to start before pehaps additionally adding a further two Clubs to second...
Blokes are going to bump into each other, people will get hurt. Unless it is intentional- that’s the game. From what has been said here that is what the umpire’s saw!

Absolutely agree- Reserves want to play every week as much as seniors do. They pay the same subs and deserve the same number of games. Shouldn’t be ‘one team’ Clubs in 4th Division…… ever….. particularly if a season starts with an uneven number of teams creating a bye situation anyway.

Well said Bob- without two teams fronting up you don’t get a game. Takes character to turn up when you know you are short. Footy at community level should be about making sure as many blokes as possible get to have a game— win or lose- and have a beer afterwards. Kudos to Doveton and every team...
Having played in the Eastern Districts I am still surprised to see Clubs like Balwyn, Noble Park and Berwick in that comp. When I was a young fella we would pile into the back of a dad’s panel van and go out as far as Mulgrave, Scoresby and Lilydale if you played second division!

I reckon with MPNFL now looking to a third division, current SFNL clubs who would more than likely have been uncompetitive in the current MPNFL second division, are seeing an opportunity to now play closer to home and be competitive.

Those two examples don’t make a lot of sense. Whereas most of those mentioned as possibles on this site make sense geographically

Don’t think all those proposed moves would have anything at all to do with allegations. A number of those Clubs listed above sit very comfortably within the current geographic ‘boundaries’ of the MPNFL. Even moving north a little from Edithvale brings in Mordialloc and only a few K’s away from...
Is relegation likely this year with the mess Division 4 has been with Cerberus pulling out just before the season and Sth Yarra semi-folding after a few rounds at best? Maybe better to put the two divisions together- particularly if the MPNFL get a 3rd Division up and running.
Wonder if this excites any of the SFNL Clubs that are geographically more aligned with the MPNFL to look to move....
MEDIA RELEASE – Wednesday 14 June 2023
CLUB EXPRESSION OF INTEREST– ADMISSION TO THE MPFNL
To whom it may concern,
The MPFNL Board is seeking expressions of interest from Clubs...
You would definitely think Skye would be added with those 3 and South Mornington seem to be up and running as a Club. So maybe 5 there?? Possibly Chelsea Heights?
Is that right? The Board can just make the call? Thought Clubs would have a large say and new teams might need a certain percentage of clubs in favour to get in! Moving it to a Board takes the tribal bit out of it allowing for a more strategic approach!

Someone said the other day that the MPNFL had formed a new board and their first point to consider was forming a Third Division. Anyone know if that is the case? They have clubs that stretch from Edithvale across to Devon Meadows and down to Sorrento which provides quite a lot of overlap with...
