Why is everyone talking about it coming down to Carlton needing to lose to St Kilda? Bulldogs losing to GWS would also open the door unless I’m missing something?

Norwood have been winning pretty big at home, hopefully they can win by a good margin over North on Friday night and dent their percentage. Yes every chance Eagles lose at Noarlunga, they’ve fallen apart.

Needless to say very happy with that result for multiple reasons. Had a good feeling about it to be honest. Now for an away win against GWS to throw another twist in to the season. Reckon Carlton are cooked now, a conbination of loss of form and now injuries, won’t be at all surprised if wet...
More Victorian sides are playing in Geelong now because the ground now has a 40,000 capacity. Richmond played there for the first time in years too.

They will scream umpires but, while I didn’t see it, my wife called a high free for North in that passage. How good, would’ve enjoyed it even more if it hadn’t knocked me out of gauntlet.

Cheating umps aside, we are flat as a tack today. Absolutely on Stuart’s terms. Margin not unmanagable but see this getting worse, not better. And yes, we need to leave this comp behind.

Poor start. Hopefully can get going in the second. They did mention on the coverage that in the earlier games more goals were kicked to the end Sturt kicked to but surprised it’s much of a factor.

The mini draft system resulted in players playing under different game plans, sometimes in different positions, feeling out of place in different teams. I would hate imagine us trying to do our list rebuild under those circumstances. That system was well and truly due for the chop. We now have...
Not getting out of this one. If Strachan and Wright come back in next week I’m reasonably confident we have Sturt covered and will get another shot.

I think we’d have challenged it if this was a knockout final. Think the club figured a challenge would likely just result in a 2 week suspension as he was very unlikely to get off at SANFL tribunal.

Hopefully GWS can bring the heat next week. They brought no heat at all in the first half last time and Port’s midfield were able to put on a show. Surely it’ll be a different story next week.

I will be clear in case of any misunderstanding; my post was not a criticism of Matt, I agree, I believe this was a club decision, thus my criticism is squarely on the club.

The statement from the club on Crouch is totally unacceptable for several reasons. First, I am certain that when we joined the competition, we gave assurances that we would not do this, particularly in finals. I seem to recall the words “play the line” were used at the time, and may even be in...
Where did you hear that? Huge if true, he dominated against Glenelg last time. Would of course also allow Borlase to go back.

I think a lot rests on whether Strachan comes up. Ruck is not a strength for Glenelg and Strachan totally dominated last time. Plus of course he can also go forward.

Because Port’s AFL team is still alive, the qualification rules don’t apply until their AFL team is eliminated. It was the same for us in 2016 when both our AFL and SANFL teams played finals.

Rusty first half and particularly poor second quarter, but responded really well and really cranked it up in the second half. The umpires clearly going to assist the newer teams wherever possible if today was an indication.

This side is good enough to get the job done on Sunday. Would want Strachan and/or Crouch to come in to feel confident against Glenelg though.
