Divide and conquer - the ultimate art of war. I daresay the AFLNEB knew they wouldn't break the 4 without some serious manoeuvrings and they look to have come the goods. It's a pretty big carrot to try to turn down as being a standalone club if Tatong & Swanpool remain steadfast in their belief...

I doubt that they should have Benalla in their name is they will not be a Benalla team... Unless they base their trainings in town with shared home games between the different grounds? There is already 2 Benalla Sides & you would hate for the league to think this megaclub would be stealing...

I can't reply to all the drivel that I have caught up on over the last couple pages (inbetween some reasonable posts), some are outright s%$t. Since when has football only been about the money? I do not believe that any club should have to fold or merge just because everyone thinks they are...

The Review declares that the 12 side competition includes Bright as one of those teams, and understand that with fewer Benalla side clubs for Bright to travel to they will remain part of O&KFNL.

Interesting that there was no talk of mergers... Have heard that the Review Panel when speaking to all clubs would mention possible mergers (maybe not necessarily Greta merging though) between any club to try and 'address' the inequities between top & bottom sides i.e. Senior Football Results.

Think the ad has something to do with an outdated constitution that requires the club to advertise all their positions each year. Would have hoped the footy manager let Pige know... :confused:

Talking to a couple Tatong people yesterday and they're a bit unhappy with Glenrowan. One of the Glenrowan players was overhead being sent out in sniper mode and ended Welshy's game with a knee injury and later in the game seen standing over Spook (who was lying on the ground in serious pain)...

Fair enough Nonch. From memory there used to be a box where you could write a match report in. I was only guessing that maybe an umpires report about player eligibility may have gone in there which could then be lifted out by the media. Thanks for the clear up :thumbsu:

Think you will find JAM is that with Tatong disputing it, there was an umpires report put through with the results. The media get access to the results (and any match/umpires reports) after at 6pm on the Saturday (same as with the selected teams on the Thursday nights) which is how the Border...

I believe that all the clubs were going to be put through the same litmus test on their viability. Criterion included forfeits & players doubling up which was to for new & existing O&K clubs. And I believe the board got a bit of a wake-up call at one stage after Bright forfeited a couple games...

It might be tough for a few clubs with no more byes coming up -straight week in/week out to the GF in Sept. Those near the top will be hoping for that week off come finals time. Especially if they end up trying to nurse players through games rather than giving them time off to recover properly...

Couldn't find a league to play against. They had one, then they didn't, then they found another one, then they couldn't play them.... Something like that, then all the flooding earlier this year affected quite a few clubs/leagues which put a few of them back in the financial stakes. Apparently...

Having just caught up with all the Aker Circus, and it really is just that, a circus. It is all very disappointing but wholly expected. To think Milawa have paid for him to come and play. I would've expected Aker to at least try being an ambassador for AFL but all he has done is say that country...

Not sure on numbers but heard the same. Can't be good if they are putting the word out on the Tuesday night sports wrap-up on Shepp WIN news tonight... How long will the league let them go along with the double-up or forfeiting rule this year?

Re: OKFL - Part 2 The league has requested player numbers for all grades of football & netball for ALL clubs. Not just the newbies... Would make for interesting reading considering each the B&D clubs around Benalla are all rumoured to be struggling.
