Think this is interesting. Durdin, Lever and Wright will have had significant injuries heading into the 2014 draft, with McCartin (extremely successfully) dealing with issues of his own.

Did we make a mistake not taking Matt Crouch at 18 or 19?
The guy averaged over 35 possessions in the TAC and today in his first AFL hitout he gets 24 touches. No pressure on Dunstan & Acres but Crouch's numbers dont lie!

Wayyyyy too early to judge if the recruiters have made a mistake or not. Especially when Dunstan and Acres could become very good players and better AFL players over Crouch.

Yeah what did Garry Ablett do in his first NAB cup. Seriously!.

Crouch looks class. A natural footballer. Reminds me a bit Andrew Jarman with his disposal.

Dunstan could be a Scott Thompson though with greater leadership, so hard to argue one over the other. Argument could be made that the list had a greater need for young leaders.

You're not asking that after one nab cup game are you? Surely we at least get a look at our guys before coming to any conclusions?

Here's the thing. There are lots of great players in every draft, especially in the top 25. Apart from the odd horror-story or bolter, most of the time they'll all be pretty good-to-solid.

I have better things to do than sit around arguing about whether Dunstan and Acres are better than the players 2 or 3 spots further down the draft. I can't be stuffed figuring out whether Billings is better than Aish or whoever. The deals are done, they are our three players, and here's hoping they contribute well to our future. Let's focus on them without the pointless comparisons.

He was the one I would have taken with the second pick but he is a bit messy with the ball. I hope Dunstan turns out better though.

I'd back Dunstan to win more contests or break even on them.

And Adelaide were playing against basically a 2nd string Port Adelaide in a pre season comp.....

Dunstan and Acres will be fine....Acres was a surprise for me when he fell to 19.....much better than that, should've gone top 10.

Said it before and i'll say it again, Acres has the potential to be the best of our 3 draftees

That's true but I think after seeing the team they have got this year they might be a bolter into the 8. Tex Walker was a huge loss for them and with Petrenko the only real small forward option they have significantly improved the weaknesses in their list with Pods and Betts.
