I tend to agree. If we do get Shiel then Armo probably gets traded. What that deal is I don't know.

Maybe he goes to GWS as part of the deal for Shiel?

1 and Armo for Shiel, 4 and 15 or something?
I reckon that's probably the most realistic deal involving Shiel to be thrown up in this thread, would be happy to do it too. GWS might not want to give up 15 but yeah, around the mark.

As a late draft type I would be interested in Nakia cockatoo. Would give us some much needed outside run. People's thoughts?
cavaka/wilkinson > cockatoo

Forget about gun forwards, all about midfield spread and players flexible enough to play multiple roles.

I agree with the bolded, but I still think you need 2 decent tall forwards, preferably 1 of them being a top level key forward. Both teams today had 2 tall options - Buddy/Tippett v Roughy/Hale or McEvoy. The swans issues weren't Buddy or Tippett it was Reid and Goodes.

If they took out Reid and played Mitchell they might not have got smashed in the middle and then Buddy and Tippett would have had more opportunity. Take out Goodes and add in another runner or mid/fwd and they look better as well.

I think where our forward stocks are at we could really do with McCartin to solidify our depth and bring some real quality into our forward line. Next year looks like it has lots of great mids so we can get more of those then as well.

To clarify, I don't for a second think we should take McCartin at 1, but if we downgrade 1 to 4 and McCartin is there then we should take him (assuming we rate him as the best option). We don't pass on him for a midfielder unless we genuinely rate a mid as the best available and in this draft it doesn't look like that would be the case (unless the club loves De Goey as much as Rahul).

please for the love of god, do not go anywhere near Sam Reid, absolute potato

Having watched Reid for the past couple of years I don't think he is any better than the four tall forwards we have already got in White, Stanley, Lee and Bruce. Reid is only ever going to be a third tall forward of which we already have too many. All five of the aforementioned players would be around the same value (Stanley a bit higher than the others due to his versatility), so I think it would be a big mistake to do that 'Mitchell and Reid for pick one' deal that has been mentioned several times. It would be more of a 'Mitchell for pick one deal' (with some steak knives that we don't need thrown in). Mitchell should end up being a good player, but no way do you trade pick one for a player who is currently an emergency for another team.

You're missing someone...

Unless we get Cameron, if we downgrade to pick 4 then it would be safe to assume that we would be taking a quality mid from GWS anyway.

Balic will tear through the TAC next season, just you watch ;). Really doubt De Goey will last.
Well having watched Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis destroy the Swans today - No trade of No 1 - pick Petracca
Honestly think Langford was the key, has been a huge player all year and stepped up when they needed it most.

Can the AFL help us is every single way just so Roo can win a premiership with us before retiring........

Start by giving us the first 20 picks in this draft, thanks Gil. :thumbsu:

Does anyone see us involved with Beams going to Brisbane ?
How about Jack Steven to Pies
Bris pick 4 to us
Bris to throw 2nd rounder to pies as sweetener .
Gives us picks 1,4, 21 , 30 something.
Any chance ?
