OK, so I have a question. You know how I've been saying that we may need to wait until Melbourne find out what compo they get for losing Frawley before a whole lot of trades get done, well according to this thread here on the D&T board, the 3 day free agency match-offers period doesn't end until Thursday the 16th, just one day before the end of trade period?

If that is correct, a whole lot of deals may be held up by Melbourne and other clubs waiting until that Thursday to find out what compo they are going to get (possibly as late as 6pm ish, which is when we found out our Goddard compo) and then all the remaining deals of the trade period will need to be done completely by 2pm the following day! WTF!?

They still haven't got it right the AFL and it needs to change for next year (too late this year).

But an article the other day said that clubs likely to lose a FA will know what compo they'll receive in the next 24 hours...
But if Melb get 3, but later take a free agent like Gwilt... then what?

They won't get pick 3 compo will be reduced or they don't get a compo some crap like that anyway. I'd say the AFL would also explain that situation as well.
If Frawley leaves they won't be taking any FAs unless they're delisted ones, I'd imagine. No way would they want to water down their compensation.

A two week trade period that can't really run properly cause the FA compo's don't come out until the 2nd last day. Awesome.
