Yeahh Who do we take in the rookie draft?
McKernan,Petrenko and 2 Best kids sounds good!
Would not be surprised if we took Taylor given his effort levels and time trial results.
2 youngsters, Taylor & Schneider are my bets.

Ralph and Landsberger in the Hun now have us taking:
#1: McCartin
#21: R.McKenzie
#22: Neal-Bullen

I officially give up. ****** if I know who we'll take!

What are the odds it was a copy/paste off Twomey and they got the first initial wrong?

I quite like it. Lamb at 31 just keeps sliding. Imagine getting him at 41. He doesn't have any real surprises in the top 20. Marchbank at 7 and Weller at 19 but no risers/sliders into/out of the top 20.
Suprise, surprise

I suggest everyone flaming on in the last 50 pages take the time to read this and relax. There is no bad decision - we either get a gun mid or a gun forward. (And then two pretty bloody likely types at 21 and 22). Let's enjoy it and welcome them all to our great club.

And FWIW, I think that we'll take McCartin given the scarcity value of genuine key forwards and we'll look to develop Membrey as the Pretacca-style big bodied mid-fwd (with the fall back that he'll at least be a bloody useful bash and crash third forward in the mould of Hamill).

True.
We gave him a shitload of money above the table as opposed to Carltanks shitload of money under the table method :p

No doubt Saints paid him legally, I wasnt implying otherwise. But its a pretty known that he fell out with Elliot and the Carlton hierarchy when he found out some Cartlon players were getting a lot more than him and not all of it over the table.

I'm quite warm to the idea of a McCartin / R McKenzie combo

A Double Big Mac if you will ...

That would set us up with a FF / CHF combo for a decade. The beauty of it is, only one of them needs to be a superstar - if the other is merely good, it;s still a great combination that teams will be sweating to match up on ... especially with Spence flying around the mark as well :)

It'd be ridiculous if we passed on Petracca because of his attitude and then took Lamb, after everything you've said.
What is to say attitude is even the reason we are overlooking Petracca? just guesses on this forum?

I doubt that is the reason considering we apparently like Tom Lamb "who has attitude problems".

The discussion was about a dozen pages back, but just on the video, from listening my first thought was that the player they were speaking about was Kyle Langford, everything they said about him checks out for mine and he's played school footy for Ivanhoe. It was the first player the bobbed into my head with that description. Tackle number doesn't match-up (does for Laverde, as do most of the points, but he's a very, very low chance to be available at 21).

Attack first - Yes
Athlete - Yes
GPS numbers expected to be high - Yes
TAC Cup team of the year - Yes
Plays half-back - Yes
Can play a range of positions - Yes
Kicking/decision-making ? early on - Yes.

I think there's a genuine chance that he's available at 21.

I am with you on this. If there are no sliders we absolutely must take, I think we go McKenzie and Mendadue personally. Grab Nielson at 41. Walk away with:
McCartin;
McKenzie;
Menadue; &
Nielson

Target mids next year. If 1 of the double Macs are surplus to our needs we trade 1 out later on.

If we take McCartin (which we will) then we won't be taking Lamb or R. McKenzie, even if they are available.

Take McCartin + midfield slider + D. McKenzie/Touk Miller/Neal-Bullen

I've said it from the outset. I would absolutely be stoked with Kyle Langford at 21 or 22.
