Like I said you get votes for being better than everyone else in the team but if everyone plays crap what does it count for

No different to the brownlow it can be the worst game in history but votes will be allocated
Every player gets 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. If you don't "play your role", you don't get a vote.

Because the post I quoted shows every vote awarded to every player in every game :$

Yes just had a look and looking at it I have now no doubt votes are given for mediocre performance

Seriously take a look at some if the votes given, I reckon they must give out vote cards to a cast who feel they have to put names down

Maybe I'm just a hard marker what a shambles like I said players do get votes for being ordinary

You have ice on and off for 24-48 hours. Not on constantly.

There's a photo in the Advertiser of him with a bag of ice strapped to it. Unless Rooch photo-shopped it in

He's hurt his hamstring. Best case is he misses first two games. Hopefully it's no worse than that though every day the club doesn't say anything definitive you can add two extra weeks to his likely absence.

Ah, thanks. I saw him in the dugout in the last q and didn't see any ice, so assumed he was okay.

Maybe the coaches understand the roles better than you or me?

Thinking they give out votes for encouragement not playing well
That seems unlikely, as the votes aren't known until the count, and research shows that "encouragement feedback" needs to be timely to be effective.

The new system seems to be more about ensuring everyone gets votes at some point in the year to be read out at the B&F, without impacting the final result
Yep, I'm pretty sure that's what they were aiming for...

Maybe they do or feel an obligation to at least give out a certain number regardless of performance

Because it looks that way
Or else maybe the coaches understand the roles better than us

Why does that seem incredulous to you? It seems very modern corporate "team building" to me
Incredulous that you think that's the main point of the voting. "More about ..."

No, I said that's the main point of the new voting system, in which all of the coaches get to provide votes that are added together, and the minimum bar for getting 1 vote from 1 coach is "Played their role. Solid game without significant influence on the game", which amounts to running out, doing what you were told, and not making any serious mistakes. With such a low bar, and that many votes floating around, just about everyone who plays a senior game in the season is going to have some votes on the board at the B&F night, which is very modern corporate, everyone gets a gold star but the actual performers still get a watch with theirs, team building.

I brought the whole thing up trying to illustrate my position, and now I'll shut it down - I thought Matt Crouch's game was 2s from the coaches.

And will they issue all votes every game or will they miss if the whole team plays like crap

No link to that
If you play badly, you get no votes!

There are many more players getting votes when we play well v not.

Just review the past voting & you would soon find out.

Probably best now you quit whilst you are behind. ;)
