Bottom line is most of our players have about as much value as a cold pie. The only way up for us is to go down. We need to finish near the bottom for about 3 year's to try and draft our way out of this mess. Only problem i have is we will throw them away on Butcher and Moore copys.
Ridiculous post

Is he Costanza or Kramer? Taking care of business.

Kochie - "Mr. Davies, I'm afraid we're going to have to let you go"

CD - "I don't even really work here!"

Port offered pick 62 for ar chee....
Pass!!

Says something about our club too. If Ah Chee could not get a place in Hawthorn's first 22 you could be sure that GC wouldn't be expecting to get him for 62. You expect clubs to start low and then work up, it looks like with them starting at 62 that we'd be lucky to get an offer better than 44.

Given our list situation, might as well ask for `2017 fourth round pick'. If we can't cull this year, next year will/should be legendary.

Pick 62 is slightly better than the pick we would have if we delist him, so what's the problem?

What were you expecting us to get? A first rounder?
He wont be delisted. He's activated a new year in his contract. It isn't up to us if we keep him, it is up to him.

62 may come in to replace him, but that means we have to use 62 and still use our high picks.

Right now we're going to the draft with 9, 48, 67, 85 and 103.

Get 62 and that's 9, 48, 62, 67, 85, 103.

That's a lot of garbage we're filling our list with.

When he goes next year it will be for nothing.

True but 62 is pretty much nothing in itself
Zaine Cordy was pick 62 in 2014 fyi

I'd be hanging out to get GC to trade us their 2017 4th round to be honest, it looks like the cull year has been delayed 12 months, and we don't want to spend yet another offseason going "oh we can't delist anyone because its pick 102 better hang onto spuds forever and never try new blood out"

here's some ideas I have (which probably won't happen):

* Pick swap with Sydney: Picks 14 and 17 for Pick 9, we gain two first rounders, they've got no Academy talent coming through and a fairly strong list, which can be bolstered with a top 10 pick
* Brendan Ah Chee, Pick 49 and Pick 67 to Gold Coast for Pick 30 and Pick 80

we'd then have six senior spots available, so that means we have 14, 17, 30, 80, 85 and 103

lets assume we stick with 39 players in 2017, that means we make 3 picks at the draft with 14, 17, 30, "pass" on pick 80, 85 spent on promoting Nathan Krakouer to the senior list, 103 spent on either promoting Will Snelling to the senior list or signing a DFA (Aaron Black? Jack Grimes? Seb Tape? Liam McBean?)

Id be chasing Matera in a Ah Chee deal Charlie will love it and slots right into Neades spot who do not rate highly

We tried that, but GWS and the AFL ****ed us in the arse.

Hmm depends which way you look at it. We've picked up some good players late in the draft. It's a slim chance but what's the alternative? Wait for a guy to some good, who probably won't and is likely to leave anyway.
