SOS seems determined to stack Carlton's list with most of the players GWS can't keep.

I can't see how it's a winning strategy. Most of the GWS players at Carlton don't look up to it.

Agree. Quality like Brucey and Steele, over quantity. Just because GWS has them on their list is not a guarantee they are going to be superstars.

Plowman & that's about it..

Not a good look

Not saying we get all of those.

The idea is just to go a little nuts given where we finished and the amount of Salary cap we theoretically have on hand.

Port need Hartlett gone because of Salary cap concerns, not cause he wants to go. Use Richos connections to try and get him to nominate us, then don't budge from our next years 2nd.

Brown comes straight into the 22 alongside Carlisle to give us our big defence, if Collingwood can't retain him, he's worth a free hit.

Mitchell is worth getting, but worst comes to worst, Hawks have to give up something valuable to improve themselves rather than "cheap" hit after cheap hit.

**** the trade period up.

Offer 10 for Mitchell and Sydney's 2nd round and beat the offer the Hawks are making him.

Hold firm on 40 whatever pick we have for Steele.

Offer Port our future 2nd for Hartlett.

Offer N Brown a good contract.

Have our ear in every deal, willing to use our non-first round picks and players both contracted and uncontracted to facilitate deals and gain some picks or players we think will improve us.

Lick the finger and stick it in every tasty looking pie, then only take the best one, or Force others to pay more for them.
Or we can use our future picks for next year when real quality becomes available.

If we aren't trading any ruckman, how are we going to acquire a second round pick without trading our first? No one else has real value that we can afford to let go.
Armo

Nah.

Every next year is better than this year.

Make sure we keep our first round, but everything else should be on the table.

We're not 1 gun away from a premiership team, but 2-4 high quality recruits, plus a first or second round this year goes a long way to making us Doggies level, and as long as you make finals, it's anybodies game with the bye on hand now.

I think with 3 picks inside 30 and Steele it should be enough to make the 8 next year. I don't know why we would spend coin & picks on players this year when next year you have guys like Shiel coming out of contract that we can throw money/picks at. If we do what you say this year and then give GWS our 1st round pick next year we'll be left with nothing. We are a good enough side already to play finals footy.

Steele deal very productive talks, they have a couple of diff options on table depends on other deals
Excellent. This is why I hope we wait to see what else GWS do. If they don't manage to trade up from 7 then we might be able to get our hands on that pick and Steele, in exchange for pick 10 and extras.

Hence the Armo talk and why it would make a hell of a lot of sense, if we are going to trade Armo, to get Stevens as a direct replacement.

The only ones I can see moving on are Pierce, Lee and Templeton...I'll be happy with 3 picks under 30 and Steele, then go after someone next year.

how do we get 3 picks under 30 with little trading?

Likely no roughy (insurance is probably paying his wage?) and i don't believe they ever really used buddy's money other than on frawley.

So yeah they are probably right at the limit after vickery, mitchell and jaeger... But it's not impossible.
Roughy starts training again in December, will play next year
