I keep saying it, but if we want to move on a ruckman and get in a ruck who can be a forward threat we could do a lot worse than Footscray's Tom Campbell.

24, 200cm, 106kg. Robotic kick, but an accurate one, and bloody hell can he clunk a mark.

Wouldn't cost much.

EDIT: On cue, set shot supergoal. Yo.

You'd have to think they'd pay big money for him - a big key forward...

Oh... wait... never mind.

interesting to see this get tucked away in another article on SEN:
The Suns face the prospect of losing fellow rising stars Jaeger O’Meara and Peter Wright this season after the departure of Charlie Dixon to Port Adelaide last year.

Think Peter Wright will be a very good player, was hoping we were going to draft him

Yeah i be happy with that. :thumbsu:
Hands off our 1st rounder tho , Future pick + player maybe ?
I would be ecstatic if we could lure big 2mPeter - but what would he cost?

Well, that depends on what he is, at his core

$106.50 if he's some standard but reliable Plyfloor (http://www.bunnings.com.au/plyfloor-f14-2400x1200x19mm_p0035619)

$99 if he's some fancy Acacia that lacks a little polish (http://www.bunnings.com.au/2200-x-6...ed-hardwood-project-panel-interbuild_p8330032)

Or a measly $64.99 if he's some cheaply weak MDF that needs a reno (http://www.bunnings.com.au/easyline-2400-x-1200-x-9mm-mdf-interior-primed-wall-lining_p0330042)

If, and it is a very big if, Hurley was allowed to become a free agent due to the continuing saga, then wouldn't he be someone that the powers that be, would be asking the question.

Essendon have already been hit with a fine with regards to work safe, so would there be grounds for him to become a free agent?

Wishful thinking:), and it would depend entirely on his state of mind, and don't forget wasn't he a saints supporter growing up, ( but so was Sloane:cry:).

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Big Sun not going anywhere, says Gold Coast

GOLD Coast big man Peter Wright is "happy as Larry at the footy club" and is set to re-sign, says Suns list manager Scott Clayton.

Wright is a Victorian and was a top 10 draft pick in 2014. He is 203cm and has shown promise as a forward who can also help out in the ruck. There has been speculation he could move back to Victoria.

"We’re happy with where things are with Peter. We've been talking to his manager for some time now and the indication is he wants to stay," Clayton told News Corp.

"The intention from both parties is a deal will get done shortly."

The 19-year-old's current deal is set to expire at the end of this season.

Despite only having played three games in his career, coach Rodney Eade has indicated Wright is well in contention to play in Gold Coast's round one game against Essendon

Club says player absolutely wants to stay. #Shock

The 12 can nominate to be a delisted free agents if they want but in reality would look to use that threat to get a trade so if we go for him look forward to another fun trade period

DFA or GTFO.

Dealing with Essendon in a trade would be literally the last thing I'd want us to do at the closure of this season. Talk about once bitten...

don't think the deal worked out bad for us at all. what's to say we weren't gonna take Gresh anyway? Parish would have been gone, the next best mid available to us would have been Gresham. by all reports we were gonna take White with our 2nd as well. so in essence, we might have got Carlisle for free

having said that though, **** Dodildo and Essendon and let's never work with them again :D

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining about the deal at all and whilst I'm not entirely convinced it would've gone down exactly the same way (eg Tucker was sitting there at original second pick) I'm not remotely concerned at the end result for us.

It was more the whole dealing with the slimy Dildoro and subsequent issues surrounding the involvement of Hawthorn and the trial by media that ensued. As you said, **** them and let's never work with them again - grabbing Hurley as a DFA would just be sweeter because it's Essendon and I can guarantee they'd be the first club to kick us if we were down!

Two-metre Peter might be as happy as Larry, but I hear Larry's six feet under and we're as keen as mustard. :)

Melbourne deliberately tanked to get high draft picks, and then completely failed to develop the players they selected with those picks. They deserve whatever they get.

Their supporters however, deserve better.

Don't you think they've copped enough for tanking though? That happened quite a long time ago now and they finally look to be heading in the right direction. One quick look over at the Melbourne board and you see how much the guy means to them... I would hate to see him leave.
