This leaves Dusty, who doesn't seem to have too many negatives except for perhaps his off-field sort of stuff.
He's arguably just as good as Fyfe is now, he's proven to be FAR more durable (he's hardly missed a game since his first year or so), he's still improving, he's a genuine "matchwinner", he can win games for you both forward, or in the midfield, he would take the tag away from Steven, he brings some more speed and the big one is that with Richmond having to pay all of Rance, Cotchin, J-Roo, Prestia and still paying some of Delidio's contract, they may struggle to match an offer for Dusty, if we offer him "overs".
Then again, with the increase in the CBA, it may just be that both clubs will be able to match pretty much any offer if they want to, so we may have picked a shocking year to be going really hard at FA, unfortunately.
At least two really high level players are in the mix and Rocky not a bad back up plan. I'm pretty confident we have got to a stage with Fyfe though that he's as good as signed we just need to work out how we can price Freo out. Their board will be pretty unlikely to approve keeping Fyfe if they finish bottom 6 this year on big money. Hopefully they have to match terms and that means we can pay $2.5 in his first year and pay less later. If we can get him as a free agent with out compensating we would have to be crazy not to find a way. Dusty could be keen to stay if they play finals and actually easier to nab if the Tigers fall away late in the season.
